Screen turns white when changing settings ingame.

For some reason, almost every time I want to change something in the settings menu, the minute I confirm the changes, the screen turns white, making the game unplayable until I start it up again. This happens if I try to change the resolution of the game, if I want to change the UI locks, and even the keyboard controls. It's incredibly frustrating, and I've had to abandon a lot of dungeon runs because of this. I don't know if there's a fix for this, but if there is, I would appreciate it greatly if you could tell me how to prevent this problem from ever happening again.
