Remove items from ships

I often find I'm in a large ship full of cargo but I want to remove some sails/canon from a small fast ship in my inventory to put them on my large ship. But I can't get those items off the small ship without boarding it, which I can't do without ditching my cargo.

Would it be possible to make a way of removing items from ships in my inventory without having to board them?

in ship parts screen there is a button at bottom left side"Remove Spare Ship Parts"

That or go to your ship, then equip the part from the other ship.   Then you can remove it from your ship, and it will not be equipped to the first ship.   I did this last night during the ESF.
