Worked on Treasure Hunts, Charting and other random quests.
-------------
I have been trying to figgure out how the top adventure placer was able to get to level 87 in two days.
-------------
I have been trying to chart the last 10 land zones but could not figgure out how to do it. I kept getting the message "The land region is not available for investigations yet. You bill be able to initiate investigations as you progress in the event related to the Land Region Investigations"as the message when trying to choose it.I thought this meant you had to do the related quest to discover the zone and then chart it after making a certain discovery. It turns out, all i needed to do was go to oxford and talk with the professor and he gives you two new land zones to chart each time. The first of these is The Sahara and the Zambeize river upstream.
----------------
Discovered Moonbow (Natural Phenomenon) in Zambeize river Midstream.
---------------
I did some research into the XP race and think that I have a definite possibility for how to get 1M xp in two days. The prep work for this is substantial, but if you are a high level adventurer, most of the work is already done. This is my guess and the list of prep work need to be able to execute this.
3) turn on Priest's Wisdom 1 Boston College skill, be in the Priest Job. Browse Theology books overnight, or as long
1) Unlock the level 87 cap
------------
Charted Paraguay River upstream, went fishing in the middle of the X in the round (NW corner) circular area.discovered Surubi (Fish) while fishing in that area. This ability to fish only opens up when you have completed charting the land area. I there are 3 fish discoveries here.I will not tell you exactly where the other two locations are to fish, but there ARE two other locaitons
-------------
discovered Sun Pillar (natural Phenomenon) while charting Niagra River basin.
The skill bonus is over. I continue to do one Treasure Hunt per day and have now activated 3 skills, Hide completed quests, Hide discovered maps, Hide treasure maps.I am sailing around the world using headache medicine and browsing each category for discovery maps. I passed 2400 discoveries and am at 293/298 maps.
----------
I thought about what goals are on my list now, but I do not have many.
=======
May 25, Day 586
Nothing special going on, I just try doing a TH per day a few other quests and a couple ofadventure quests.
I was having a hard time figuring out how to get some of the Memorial Album items from TH.My company mate MadMartha explained that to get the correct quest, you need to start with the correct clue.I essentially was starting with 100 of the same clue, combining them up to the top clue and always ended up with the same quest. To get the "other" TH items, you need to start with a different starting clue. This means that if you are working on have say the "Grimore" Theme, which has 3 TH's you need to start with 3 different 1* clues. Each of the different 1* clues turns into a different final TH.
=======
June 1, Day 593
Finished Vinland quest today. got a nice bow and Thor's Hammer.
=====
June 5th, Day 597
Finished all Treasure Hunt Quests. Something is off though. There are 6a memorial albums for Treasure Hunts called Truth or Rumors. Memorial Albums. No2, is still missing 3 items.
-----------
Passed 2500 discoveries.
----------
Started working on Dungeons in Egypt. Completed all levels of the three Egyptian Dungeons.
---------
Finished the Machu Pichu and Cusco Chains from Lima/Portobelo and Rio.
Discovered Irridecent Cloud (Natural Phenomenon) in SA NW coast landing zone.
Nothing special to report. Very busy with work. I am only doing maybe 3 adventure quests per day.
-------------
I help out the company, and new players when I can.Help do company tributes... etc.
-------------
I am looking into Folklore quest, Pets and, Transmutation Alchemy.
===========
June 23, Day 615
I am still not on the list of players who have completed level 87.I have been level 87 Adventure for around 5 weeks now and have posted this as a bug and also followed up with an email to support. Not that it really matters that much.
--------------
Oddly on the "Go the Distance" sailing challenge, I am somehow ranked #17 with 5,182,000 km.That is 5 million kilometers in 1 week?Considering that the circumference of the Earth is only 40,075 kilometers, that means I sailed around the world roughly 130 times in one week. That is hardly likely. I am guessing that I sail around the world maybe 1.5 times per day and maybe 3 times on the weekend. The race is only June 12-19so I would say 800,000 km is probably a more realistic number.
Discovered Red rain in Kerala (Natural Phenomenon) in North Calicut.Still working on discoveries. I started a few of the folklore quests which only have one requirement. They are not hard at all and only take a bit of sailing.I am continuing with the normal quests, but the discoveries are taking a bit longer as many of the higher level discoveries have a lot of "filler" language only quests with no discoveries.
------------
I finally got posted on the race to level 87 top finishers. They inserted me at #13, with a finishing date of May 14th. We are three months into this race and still only 17 players have made level 87 Adventure. In contrast, it only took five days to fill the 50 slots to achieve level 87 Trade.
------------
I think this is an efficient use of my limited time. There are no special bonuses on, and I do not have a lot of time to play so there is a lot of auto sailing. If there was some sort of bonus on, I would modify my focus.
------------
In the last update, Atlantis has resurfaced. There are item rewards for visiting. The best items for me would have been in the first few days because they were for alchemy, but the deadline has already passed and they have different rewards now.
There is a +100% skill bonus, so I switched to trade and made up 30+ carro 18's. sailed to the Black Sea and started doing Battle Report quests as a Cannoneer. The goal will to finish off my Maritime leveling and get as high as I can in cannon skills.
----------------
Since I get no xp for completing adventure quests anymore, I decided to do the last Treasure Hunt.It does not show up when Atlantis is not available. The quest requires the exploration of the labyrinth.I pick up the TH and do the three quests needed to complete the Solar Barge.Atlantis is just off the coast of Rio De Janero. While I am there I get down to level 19 where I think I will discover the TH item in the "Special Passage" Nothing happens.I continue on and go down 4 more floors.. still nothing happens when i click on the item.I decided to look at the quest again and discover that I switched to Sword Master and the required adventure skill is R13. My skill level is 10+2!I switch an aide to the correct job and make the discovery.
Coat of the Nemean Lion.A nice discovery, but totally useless. No Effect item.According to Ivyro, if you use Transmutation alchemy, you can turn it into a+2 SP, +1 SM, +1 Rowing armor 50 Defense. That may have been something special a long time ago. With all the new items, it is not that good.
-----------
I keep going and make level 27 before I lose my last life and get kicked out. Interestingly , I make it a lot farther into the dungeon this time without any special equipment. What I am using is my aide Caldina in the Store Keeper Job.She has "Food Supplies" which recovers my stamina to "Max" when entering a new floor. This aide skill makes a lot of dungeon consumable items obsolete!I will let you figure that out on your own time.
I completed 4 runs to EA and brought back full loads. This time I actually sold the goods and used my original fame boosters. I capped all my fame at 470k and still have 10 boosters left over from the beginning of the game
-------------
Preparing to reload all my college credits via the chicken-egg method. Nothing special going on. I try to spend some time helping out company mates.
============
July 19, Day 642
I worked 2 Boston College Thesis.Swordfighter and SwordMaster thesis. I do my tour of land battles in South Veracruz.I am able to pick up Sword Power3 tech; Unterhau, and Sword Quick3 tech; Wild slash. I move to the Himalayan Region and pick up Spear Feint 3 Durchwechsein. These are Tech 90, 91 and 92.
-------------
After 3 days of land battles I run through about 10 longswords and wear out my Alexander's Armor 250 durability.Swordplay is now R12 11050/14,400; Sword Mastery R9 5300/8100. My Finesse Ranks for sword are 31/21/26. I have to take a break and reload on my junk equipment.
I pick up Sword Feint3 tech "Schrankhut" Tech 93. My sword finesse ranks are 31/33/35.I have all 3 rank 3 techs so I switch to staff.I learn Staff Power3 tech "Shatter" #94
=============
July 28, Day 651
I move to EA and work on Azuchi Castle.I get the xxxxxx, and 4 memorial album items. I get make throw R11.I recommend doing throw practice at Azhuchi Castle Mid, floor 4.There is a sweet spot at the bottom right corner that is a right angle. The NPC funnel there and get stuck in the funnel. The distance across the boxes that make up the funnel is just a bit too long for swords. The two NPC level 49 Evil Martial Artists use swords so they can not reach you and just bounce back and forth in the funnel area while you can practice your throw or snipe, guns.bows, crossbows and rifles. Each round in that area gains about 33 pts of skill if the NPC's do not use any Elixirs.
I move to Colorado Plateau and work my throwing knife finesse.I end at 35/31/33 and gain throw Quick3 "Une Deux Trois Quatre" #95 and thriow Feint 3"Invitacion" #96
---------
August 5, Day 659
I move toNiagra River Basin and fight Muller Gang 51 and 52. I don't seem to pick up any techs, but I think my skills and finesse are too low.I end up at crossbow 15/18/24 finesse and Handgun finesse 8/10/17. I shift to working on Skills. The Summer bonus is on for another two days so I work my Merchandise knowledge up to R7 and snipe skill to R8.The bonus only works with R7 and under. If I had planned this better I would have gotten my gunfire out of the skill book at the scholars. As it is, I traded it Cooking which is maxed R17+2 refined to get out Merchandise Knowledge and of course it is taking forever to finish that book so that I can access my Gunfire skill.I chose cooking because my alt also has high level cooking and I don't need both of us to have it.To get gunfire out, I would put max casting in the skill bookshelf.
-----------
To work merchandise knowledge, i use Taheebo Juice , Taheebo bottle and Lachrymatory Powder.I work my snipe skill and keep cycling these items. They all have a low gauge and reasonable re-cast time.
I have shifted over to Alchemy. There is no rush here since there is no bonus on. The objective is to make a Robe EX that will give me +40% trade goods when I trade at the market. If I have the materials for it, I will make a second Nanban EX item. The long term goal is to refine All of my trade skills and the Robe EX will greatly improve the speed at which I pick up my Trading skills by increasing the number of goods I am able to trade with a PO.
-----------
I have to activate my old storage, which costs a few of my actual real $. I have some left over from the very beginning and also purchase Special Purchase Bonds which are necessary for Alchemy Transmutation ingredients.I now need to make a Robe Base item which starts with Alchemist's Clothes->Adept's Robe->Alchemist's Robe->(Transmutation Alchemy) -> Alchemist's Robe EX.It is going to be long as the very first step to make Alchemist's Clothes takes a lot of collecting large leaves to make fine dye.
-----------
I spend a whole weekend collecting and making Alchemist's clothes.I make 100 sets and fail 100 times trying to make one set of Adept's Robe. This is a Great Success in Alchemy Experiments at my lab desk in quarters. I run out of red alchemy ointments. (I need the red alchemy ointments to make Red Ignis Solutions) making the Robes and so I have to go back to basics and make gold and red solutions.
I am still working on trying to turn Alchemist's clothes into an Adepts Robe. After my 130th set, I discover or think that you must have the "Adept's" title active to successfully make a robe.I switch titles and continue to make more sets.I am up to 0 for 160 sets now, 0 for 30 with the title active.
------------]
My lab bench in my quarters started at a full 100 and is now down to 10 durability. The furniture loses 1 durability for every 5 or so disasterous fails, so that is 450 or so.
-------------
I have spent about 10 days now collecting large leaves, Making dye, buying gold, making ignis solutions, making alchemy pots, buying velvet and embroidery thread.
-------------
I have gained about 4900 alchemy skill points; R14 and 4900/16,900.My wares trade is back up to R14+2 refined (base). My metal trading skill is R13 base.
Finally on my 166th try.. Huge Success! Adept's robe.
----------------
So I had to make many adjustments to get this done.
----------------
1) Make Alchemist clothes needs 20 Velvet, 15 Embroidery Thread and 3 fine dye. The Embroidery thread is from silk and sewing kits (Florence). For fine dye, I needed to go to South America NE coast and collect large leaves for hours.30 leaves turns into 1 fine dye and you need 3 fine dye for the recipe (records keeper at my farm has this recipe).(I made enough for about 180 sets, or 540 fine dye = collected about 15,000 large leaves.
----------------
2) I worked my Enhanced lab bench from full 100 durability to having to change my bench to a new one by the end.
----------------
3a) The formula to make Adept's robe is Alchemist Clothes + Alchemy Pot + Ignis Solution = Adept's robe (very rare)
--------------
3b) In Preparation: Alchemy pots require 2 clay.Ignis Solutions require 1 red alchemy ointment+ distiller(glassware) + test tubes (glassware). The red Alchemy ointment requires a ton of gold and rare books. For this portion, I purchased gold from Veracruz, and move to London to access paper to make western and rare books. This will take a ton of PO's or high level wares trade and metal trade. It also requires salt.I just collected a lot of brine and turned it into salt.
---------------
4) You have to have Transmutation Alchemy Equipment which requires a completion of several quests. It is +1 stored documents and not +3.Ivyro estimates the success rate of the very rare Huge Success is approximately 1:50.
----------------
5) You must have the Adept's title active to make an Adept's robe!
---------------
6) Once I had the Adept's robe it takes approximately 30 gold+ 1 strange powder + 5 gaseous drugs + Adept's Robe = Alchemist Robe. I used a Uroboros book to guarantee the Transmuation Success.I say approximately, because using a book increases the required materials to make the transformation.
--------------
7) To do the second part of the Transformation of the Alchemist Robe to an Alchemist Robe EX requires 15 sewing and you CANNOT leech the skill. This requires you to be in the Master Alchemist Job to have 15 sewing and 15 Alchemy at the same time which is required.I had to stop , get the quest and make a basic alchemy test kiln and change to the job.
--------------
8) back to my quarters, and I use the Alchemist Robe + 5 Special Purchase bonds (cash item) + 5 10m cheques + Orichalchum (rare item from the Atlantis dungeon or can be made with Mysterious gold+ 5 special purchase bonds + 5 gaseous drugs (10 green ore+ seal of sylph + flask) Again I use a book of Uroboros to guarantee the Transformation into Alchemist Robe EX
I go to Diu twice and pick up two loads of Silk thread.I make 136 sets of Velvet Justacorp and deliver them all to the company offices for the month's activity. It goes pretty quickly.
===========
August 22, Day 676
I move over to Boston/SF for the EA goods being sold in San Francisco. It turns out to be Japanese Lanterns (Sundries PO#1)I have stored up a lot of PO #1 from purchasing lots of Bonanza box #6'sI have been using a ton of bagels/vigor in my Alchemy experiments which comes from Box #6.I set up shop put on my Gear and college boosters and i am R11+6 on my Alt, with my EX robe on me I can purchase 137 lanterns with each PO. .. Nice! Since my fame is already at max, I just set up aide bazaars in Boston and sell the lanterns there. It is crowded with 154 aide bazaars set up in a pretty small area. This does not include the player bazaars which I am guessing is another 50+.
------
I make some decent money and over 10k Skill in Sundries Trade skill which is even more important.
I use some boosters and start grinding my Trade skills. In Valencia I get Metal Trading to R14 and 75% of the way To R15 on my alt.Next time, I will refine Metal trade. On my main toon, I get to R13 Fabric Trade. It is very expensive in Vencie.I am thinking about Art, Dye and Weapons Trading, but have never come across a recipe that I needed it for.
-------------
I don't really have a plan anymore.I will have to stop and think again about what my goals are.
===========
September 3, Day688
I am away from home and only have a chance to work on Astronomy at the Scholar in San Francisco.I use the old carriage, Train to Omaha, train back to SF and visit the scholar. I make about 350 trips and make R15.I sail to St Petersburg and Refine my Astronomy Skill.
I discover that there is a new ship that requires Adventure level 85 to sail.It is only 10 total points above a CHC for speed, but it has a Huge Starting base turn and Wave resistance. I will make one and get it to G3 with all speed bonuses.5/11 as opposed to 15/14
============
September 9, Day 704
Today is EA goods in San Francisco. The good is Wuxu Porcelain I collected lots of PO 3's in the last few days and with my Nanban EX gear on and my alt wearing craft trade + items He starts at 5500/9680 and R11 refined. At the end of the day he makes R12 and is at 7324/11520
Worked on my discoveries for the last 4 days.My new strategy for completeing quests is to look at the list of recently added maps and quests and to do them.
--------------
End of Day i pas 2700 discoveries.
=============
September 28, Day 723
Not much going on.There is a Leviathan storyline going on, but I have not taken any part in it.Papaya is selling "Leviathan" killer ships. They are all galley/rowing type and I do not have the skill. There is a tally on the UWO main page that lists the number of victories vs. the Leviathan. The first time i looked it was something like 45 challenges, 1 victory. Now the score is 115 attempts and 45 victories. It must have taken a while to figure out the trick to defeating the Leviathan and now the top mariners can repeat the battle at will.
-------------------
We are six months after the the Level race started on March 27.Amazingly there are still only 27 players who have reached level 87 Adventure. There are 23 spots left to fill.
I guess this is one of the toughest things to accomplish as you cannot speed it up by purchasing items or ships, etc.
------------------
Since there are no bonuses or events that I can participate in, I have continued my adventure grind. It is very slow as the quest are very few and many of them have long chains of non discovery quests that must be completed.
------------
I am slowly building up my investment in NA railroads. The one I am currently investing in is discounts for ship production. There is a new ship called the Snow Squall which is an upgrade from the Cruise High Clipper.Of the non cash ships, it is one of the top ships now. It has a much better base turn, wave resistance and tiny edge in Sail speed over the CHC.When I have invested enough in NA, I will try and make a G5 of SS. The really tough part for most players is that it requires level 85 Adventure to Sail!
-----------
End of day i have passed 2750 discoveries. I made Rank 27 "Viser" which is apparently better than "Prince" rank 26 for Ottoman.
Discovered Gabon (city) and Red Rainbow (Natural Phenomenon) in the city. I work on my trade skills and grind my Jewelry Trade skill to R10; and make R15 and refine my Metal Trading skills; I also work on my Sundries trading but don't get a level. All of the Trade skills that only have one good to trade in a city is particularly hard to grind.Whereas Jewelry has 4 different trade items for in Gabon and is much easier to grind.
============
October 9, Day 734
Swapped to sea battles and working my cannoneer skills.I move around to where there is safe waters and do Battle reports. I don't get anything for the xp, but I keep track of where my skills are.I would prefer to do a grind of Evasion in the Caribbean except that all the guides say to do a IQ and there is no Counsul for the Ottoman. I tried every Consul and they all will not talk to me.I even leveled up my body language by talking with them.
---------------
I do my first battles in Newfoundland waters. It am able to defeat a fleet of 5 solo, but I think it would be more efficient just to do them in the Black sea as, iron, lumber and ports are closer and the fleets repair more. The only thing that is easier is that the fleets in Newfoundland are not galleys and are not always trying to melee me.
Alternating between Swordmaster and Cannoneer.I do a BR in the Caribbean in Safe Waters, then Newfoundland Waters. I sail to India which is also Safe waters and do a BR as Swordmaster.EA is Safe waters too!I work my way to EA and do another BR as a cannoneer.
-------------
I would say that the Black Sea seems to be way harder than Newfoundland or EA.
-------------
After EA, I sail back to Manchester to make new guns.I sail to the Caribbean and do an Evasion and cannon skills grind. The recommended quest if you cannot take the Imperial quest from Santiago (Wipe out the Caribbean Pirates) is a normal quest in Santo Domingo called "Mysterious Modified Armor Ship"
------------
I get gunnery, reloading and penetration up to R14 and make R15 Accuracy.
-----------
I sail to St. Peters Berg and refine my Accuracy. and make a new set of guns in Manchester
I spend a day collecting vegetable oil, and making Poupelin Trees.I help out my company and deliver 80 sets of trees.
My company WindRider Academy gets a promotion. Not sure what that does, but it can't be bad.
----------
I load up on lumber in Manchester and with my high metal trade I sail to Vera Cruz and make lots of tribute for brigands for my Alt's company.I deliver approximately 80 sets of those for my alt's company's contribution for this month as well.
------------
While I am in the Carribean, I do another cannon grind.I spend several hours running the Mysterious Modified Armor cannon Grind and get my Gunnery to R15.I sail to St petersburg and Refine Gunnery.
=========
October 23, Day 748
I try to find a job that prefers evasion and penetration. These are two skills that I need to keep leveling.I try to switch to Bounty Hunter and find that I do not have it.I take the quests for Bodygaurd,Marine Corps and Bounty Hunter.
------------
I switch to Bounty Hunter and go back to the Carribean and do another Mysterious Modified Armoured ship again.
I do multiple quests and Boston College thesis as a Bounty Hunter.I keep working on my Gunnery, Accuracy, Reloading, Penetration and Evasion.
--------------
November 2, 2019,: Day 757
I grind up my trade skills and Refine fabric Trading, Firearms Trading (on Me) and Jewellry Trading on my Alt.
----------------
Since this is the second last day of the Boost, I finally change to Shipbuilder and start upgrading my Snow Squall.I only get it to G3 with Ship Speed up 1 and 2, Emergency Acceleration and Military Camoflage. I Start pumping out ship parts and make about 50 ship parts in 1 day, including 25 Admiral's cabins, 5 large square sails, 4 latin sails, and 15 Traverse ropes. This ship is just built for speed and will have maximum wave resistance, turn and sails.
I work the last few days just doing EA runs and collecting Recognition and unlock maps.
I make R12+2 unlock.
------------
I switch over to biology and Ecological research and camp out in Calicut.I grind biology and Ecological research for 3 days but do not get any levels before the skill boost ends.
===========
November 16, Day 771
I camp out in Jaffa and Collect Black mud and make 2000 firebombs to deliver to my alt's company offices.I then switch to tuna fishing and make 3000 tuna steak to deliver to my company offices. Contributions are done for this month.
----------------
I go back to collecting seaweed and making stomach medicine. My goal is to have 4800 stomach medicine. I checked the history and found i need 1600 ventus reduction to go with the stomach medicine. The formula says 6 stomach meds per 1 ventus, but from my prior experience only half of the experiments actually use the stomach meds, hence the 3:1 ratio. (for large quantities)
Not much going on.. I have been collecting seaweed for a week and making stomach medicine. I have 3500 Stomach meds which translates into about 20k seaweed collected.
-----------
November 30, Day 785
More of the same. After 4000 stomach meds, I switched to making gaseous drugs. In the several steps before you can make the gaseous drugs, you need to make seal of scorcery and seal of slyph.I used to take a lot of time to collect mandrake, silver and Salt. Now with my medicine, seasoning and metal trade skills very high, it takes no time at all.The only part left is to collect Green Ore which i cannot buy at any port. I use my Blessing of Posideon to take 1000x5 green ore across the Suez Canal to my quarters in Istanbul. Collecting that still takes one day in the Red Sea West, but now in one day I can make 500 seal of Slyph-> 750 gaseous drugs-> +1000 ventus reductions.
-------------
Now back to watching paint dry and collecting seaweed just outside Seville/Lisbon
The most boring week so far in this game.I am up to 8000 stomach meds and 3000 Ventus reductions.I am ready for any skill boost to start my last bit of Alchemy Grind.
If you think about it.. 8000 stomach meds requires 48000 seaweed which can only be collected at sea. I did a quick estimate over 10 minutes and counted the collection log.
48 seaweed
43 logs
8 shrimp
16 crabs
188 brine
12 "nothing discovered"
just a rough estimate, but that is 10,000 minutes of collecting while on the water at port outside Lisbon or Seville.
----------
I have seen some of the new ships that require 90th level to sail. Obviously this info was lifted from one of the Asian Servers. We do not have the ability to reach level 90 yet, but I am assuming that will come in the next six months or so.
---------
Back to making discoveries and doing adventure quests.
============
December 22, Day 807
Not much to report.I made and delvered 135 Velvet Justacorps to my company. Helping out new players. Doing a quest here and there.
--------------
Atlantis is back on until Christmas so I made the parts and visited. Got some purple gloves and more of Posideon's blessings. These are nice when you need to bring 3000 green ore or 3000 silk thread thru suez.YOu have to have an alt and be able to set up an aide bazaar. The max you can carry through the canal in one trip is 1000 so you have to sail through to Cairo with 1000 and set up a bazaar while your alt holds on to the extra 2000 in Suez.
Discovered the Flying Dutchman in CapeTown. (natural Phenomenon)
------------
I was getting discouraged as I could hardly find any quests to take for discoveries and so I asked the company Expert Mad Martha. She pointed me to the Walkerpedia. This is an online source for all discoveries in the game.It turns out that there are lots of quests that are available if you are in the correct job and have R17 in the Adventure skill and R15 in the discovery skill. I take the Cartographer's job, take the college thesis for the Cartographer and start doing R17 Geography R15 Recognition quests.
========
January 4, 2020 Day 827
Passed 2800 discoveries.
---------------
Discovered Jacob's Ladder (Natural Phenomenon) while re-charting Lake Baikal Region (interior of Sea of Okhotsk West Coast)
---------
The discoveries are very few and even more tedious to do now.Several maps are % chance rewards for RE-charting a land area. I would say on average there is a 25% chance of getting a map each time you do the Re-chart.Just pretend that you had to complete a quest and only had a 25% chance of getting the discovery. Discoveries are down to 1-2 per day. Ouch.
only doing maybe 1-2 quest per day. They are hard to find.I have to be in Boston Job where R17 is the new cap before the Skill specific quests show up.there are about 15 per skill.
Jan 22 a +100% skill and xp boost started so I switched to Alchemy.I have been waiting for this for a while.
===========
Feb 1, 2020 Day 855
Made R15 Alchemy. It is NOT refinable.Switched to trade skills and worked on Perfume Trade, Made R13;Sundries Trade, Made R14;Jewelry Trade, Made R13; and Dye Trading, Made R12.
------------
Going to switch to Land battle skills. Swordplay, Sword Mastery, Snipe, Gunfire. I will be running any dungeon with a discovery until I find the Discovery.
----------
Completed Abu Simbil Lower multiple times.Discovered King's Obituary
More dungeons,My Ruin Exploration rate is 1100.I move to Planeque (Vera Cruz) and do the dungeon several times.I discover96-letter Lithograph.I make Swordmastery R10, Snipe R10, gunfire R9.
==========
February 15, Day 869
More dungeons, Lima, moslty, Palenque and Bordeaux just a few times. My Ruin Exploration rate is 1400.I discover Catecomb Bones in Lima middle. Both Palenque and Bordeaux are good places for me to train my Swordplay and Sword Mastery. If the NPC's level is 41 or lower I do not get any Swordplay skill I am 6000/19,000 R14. and 10,000/12,100 R11 Sword Mastery.I should be able to refine my Swordplay skill before February 26 when this 100% skill bonus wears off.
at the end of the skill boost on Feb 26th, I have refined Dye Trading (now R7+2 refined); Perfume trading (now R9+2 refined) Sundries Trading (now R7+2 refined) and Livestock Trading (now R6+2)
---------------
Most players are aware, but for those new to the game, There are Mysterious Bonanza boxes on sale in North America every few days. There are 8 different box types that come up for sale usually once per month. So a new box is available on average every 4 days. You can check out
I list this information because each box costs 1M and on average roughly 20% of those boxes contain Purchase orders (come in sets of 10's). This means if you opened 10 boxes for 10M you would get on average 2 sets of 10 purchase orders. This means if you sell the PO's for 500k each, all the other 8 items are free! Shhhhh. (don't tell anyone) hhaha. I don't usually sell mine, but use them to grind up my trade skills.
Now you know why there are so many aide bazaars in Seville selling PO's.
------------
After the skill boost, I keep on going with land battles as a Sword Master and work on four things simultaneously.
1) New discoveries hidden in dungeons. I discovered
Marble Statue of Archimedies in Syracuse mid
Ancient Amphjora in Rome Church mid
Ancient Copper mirror Sognsuri upper
Buried Glassware Rome Church upper
Catacomb bones Lima mid
Mural of Rameses II Abu Simbil Lower
Statue of Pharaoh Hatshepsut Luxour Lower secret passage
Tile Fragment Lima Upper
2) memorial album items in various Treasures of Luxor, Abu Simbel, the Pyramids, Treasures hidden in Ruins etc..
3) Swordplay (Now R1+2 Refined!) and Sword Master skill (R12)
4) Finesse skills and Techs I have been using a great lighthouse axe to do some of the tougher levels. My axe finesse is now 17/19/14 and I am working on yellow R3 tech. I picked up Axe Fierce Blow R3 (Tech # 97) and Axe Wild Swing R3 (Tech 98)
I switched to doing regular adventure quests that Require R17/R15.I combine this with the Boston Thesis for each job. Things go slow and steady and i make it up to 2880 Discoveries. My artist thesis gives me points for making ornaments so I have 5+ skill ornaments in my display room in quarters.
------------
There is a skill boost that will be on starting today so I will likely go back to land battle skills to work up either Sword Mastery/Gunfire and snipe/I will likely do a couple days of sea battles and melee skills hopefully I can get at least one or two more skills refined.
Comments
May 12 Day 571
Worked on Treasure Hunts, Charting and
other random quests.
-------------
I have been trying to figgure out how
the top adventure placer was able to get to level 87 in two days.
-------------
I have been trying to chart the last 10
land zones but could not figgure out how to do it. I kept getting the message
"The land region is not available for investigations yet. You bill be able
to initiate investigations as you progress in the event related to the Land
Region Investigations" as the
message when trying to choose it. I
thought this meant you had to do the related quest to discover the zone and then
chart it after making a certain discovery.
It turns out, all i needed to do was go to oxford and talk with the
professor and he gives you two new land zones to chart each time. The first of these is The Sahara and the
Zambeize river upstream.
----------------
Discovered Moonbow (Natural Phenomenon)
in Zambeize river Midstream.
---------------
I did some research into the XP race and
think that I have a definite possibility for how to get 1M xp in two days. The prep work for this is substantial, but if
you are a high level adventurer, most of the work is already done. This is my guess and the list of prep work
need to be able to execute this.
1) unlock Boston college building 3
2) complete priest thesis that gives
"Priest Wisdom 1" maybe +20 Theology quests
3) turn on Priest's Wisdom 1 Boston
College skill, be in the Priest Job.
Browse Theology books overnight, or as long
1) Unlock the level 87 cap
------------
Charted Paraguay River upstream, went
fishing in the middle of the X in the round (NW corner) circular area. discovered Surubi (Fish) while fishing in
that area. This ability to fish only
opens up when you have completed charting the land area. I there are 3 fish
discoveries here. I will not tell you
exactly where the other two locations are to fish, but there ARE two other
locaitons
-------------
discovered Sun Pillar (natural Phenomenon)
while charting Niagra River basin.
May 15, Day 577
Completed 1 Treasure Hunt per day.
Made level 87 adventure!
----------------
There is a NA festival going on, but I
am thinking of how to finish the last few days of the skill bonus.
-------------
I focus on my alt's Trade skills and
make R9+2 Refined Alcohol trade and R12+2 Refined Luxury Trade, R12+2 Refined
Craft Trade.
------------
87/87/86
May 20, Day 581
The skill bonus is over. I continue to
do one Treasure Hunt per day and have now activated 3 skills, Hide completed
quests, Hide discovered maps, Hide treasure maps. I am sailing around the world using headache
medicine and browsing each category for discovery maps. I passed 2400 discoveries
and am at 293/298 maps.
----------
I thought about what goals are on my
list now, but I do not have many.
=======
May 25, Day 586
Nothing special going on, I just try
doing a TH per day a few other quests and a couple of adventure quests.
May 28, Day 589
I was having a hard time figuring out
how to get some of the Memorial Album items from TH. My company mate MadMartha explained that to
get the correct quest, you need to start with the correct clue. I essentially was starting with 100 of the
same clue, combining them up to the top clue and always ended up with the same
quest. To get the "other" TH
items, you need to start with a different starting clue. This means that if you are working on have
say the "Grimore" Theme, which has 3 TH's you need to start with 3
different 1* clues. Each of the
different 1* clues turns into a different final TH.
=======
June 1,
Day 593
Finished Vinland quest today. got a nice
bow and Thor's Hammer.
=====
June 5th, Day 597
Finished all Treasure Hunt Quests.
Something is off though. There are
6 a memorial albums for Treasure Hunts
called Truth or Rumors. Memorial Albums. No2, is still missing 3 items.
-----------
Passed 2500 discoveries.
----------
Started working on Dungeons in Egypt.
Completed all levels of the three Egyptian Dungeons.
---------
Finished the Machu Pichu and Cusco
Chains from Lima/Portobelo and Rio.
Discovered Irridecent Cloud (Natural
Phenomenon) in SA NW coast landing zone.
June 16, day 608
Nothing special to report. Very busy
with work. I am only doing maybe 3 adventure quests per day.
-------------
I help out the company, and new players
when I can. Help do company tributes...
etc.
-------------
I am looking into Folklore quest, Pets
and, Transmutation Alchemy.
===========
June 23, Day 615
I am still not on the list of players
who have completed level 87. I have been
level 87 Adventure for around 5 weeks now and have posted this as a bug and
also followed up with an email to support.
Not that it really matters that much.
--------------
Oddly on the "Go the Distance"
sailing challenge, I am somehow ranked #17 with 5,182,000 km. That is 5 million kilometers in 1 week? Considering that the circumference of the
Earth is only 40,075 kilometers, that means I sailed around the world roughly
130 times in one week. That is hardly
likely. I am guessing that I sail around the world maybe 1.5 times per day and
maybe 3 times on the weekend. The race is only June 12-19 so I would say 800,000 km is probably a more
realistic number.
--------------
I have passed 2580 discoveries.
July 1, Day 624 Happy Canada Day.
Discovered Red rain in Kerala (Natural
Phenomenon) in North Calicut. Still
working on discoveries. I started a few of the folklore quests which only have
one requirement. They are not hard at
all and only take a bit of sailing. I am
continuing with the normal quests, but the discoveries are taking a bit longer
as many of the higher level discoveries have a lot of "filler"
language only quests with no discoveries.
------------
I finally got posted on the race to
level 87 top finishers. They inserted me
at #13, with a finishing date of May 14th.
We are three months into this race and still only 17 players have made
level 87 Adventure. In contrast, it only
took five days to fill the 50 slots to achieve level 87 Trade.
------------
I think this is an efficient use of my
limited time. There are no special
bonuses on, and I do not have a lot of time to play so there is a lot of auto
sailing. If there was some sort of bonus
on, I would modify my focus.
------------
In the last update, Atlantis has
resurfaced. There are item rewards for
visiting. The best items for me would
have been in the first few days because they were for alchemy, but the deadline
has already passed and they have different rewards now.
------------
Passed 2600 discoveries; 306 Shipwrecks;
297/298 Charts complete.
July 7, Day 630
There is a +100% skill bonus, so I
switched to trade and made up 30+ carro 18's. sailed to the Black Sea and
started doing Battle Report quests as a Cannoneer. The goal will to finish off my Maritime
leveling and get as high as I can in cannon skills.
----------------
Since I get no xp for completing
adventure quests anymore, I decided to do the last Treasure Hunt. It does not show up when Atlantis is not
available. The quest requires the
exploration of the labyrinth. I pick up
the TH and do the three quests needed to complete the Solar Barge. Atlantis is just off the coast of Rio De
Janero. While I am there I get down to
level 19 where I think I will discover the TH item in the "Special
Passage" Nothing happens. I
continue on and go down 4 more floors.. still nothing happens when i click on
the item. I decided to look at the quest
again and discover that I switched to Sword Master and the required adventure
skill is R13. My skill level is 10+2! I
switch an aide to the correct job and make the discovery.
Coat of the Nemean Lion. A nice discovery, but totally useless. No
Effect item. According to Ivyro, if you
use Transmutation alchemy, you can turn it into a +2 SP, +1 SM, +1 Rowing armor 50
Defense. That may have been something
special a long time ago. With all the
new items, it is not that good.
-----------
I keep going and make level 27 before I
lose my last life and get kicked out.
Interestingly , I make it a lot farther into the dungeon this time
without any special equipment. What I am
using is my aide Caldina in the Store Keeper Job. She has "Food Supplies" which
recovers my stamina to "Max" when entering a new floor. This aide skill makes a lot of dungeon
consumable items obsolete! I will let
you figure that out on your own time.
July 8, Day 631
I made R13 in Reload, Accuracy, and
Penetration. I completed my last battle
reports and made Maritime Level 87.
-------------
I switched my skills over to Astronomy
and switch over to do a bit of skill grinding at the Archives. I made R13 Astronomy.
-----------
On my Alt, I used up all my PO 4's and
most of my PO 1s'. I made R12 Metal Trading and R13 Seasoning Trade, and R11
Sundries Trade.
----------
87/87/87 !!
July 13, Day 636
I completed 4 runs to EA and brought
back full loads. This time I actually
sold the goods and used my original fame boosters. I capped all my fame at 470k
and still have 10 boosters left over from the beginning of the game
-------------
Preparing to reload all my college
credits via the chicken-egg method. Nothing special going on. I try to spend
some time helping out company mates.
============
July 19,
Day 642
I worked 2 Boston College
Thesis.Swordfighter and SwordMaster thesis.
I do my tour of land battles in South Veracruz. I am able to pick up Sword Power3 tech; Unterhau, and Sword Quick3 tech; Wild slash. I move to the Himalayan
Region and pick up Spear Feint 3 Durchwechsein.
These are Tech 90, 91 and 92.
-------------
After 3 days of land battles I run
through about 10 longswords and wear out my Alexander's Armor 250 durability. Swordplay is now R12 11050/14,400; Sword
Mastery R9 5300/8100. My Finesse Ranks
for sword are 31/21/26. I have to take a break and reload on my junk
equipment.
July 26, Day 649
I pick up Sword Feint3 tech "Schrankhut" Tech 93. My sword
finesse ranks are 31/33/35. I have all 3
rank 3 techs so I switch to staff. I
learn Staff Power3 tech "Shatter"
#94
=============
July 28, Day 651
I move to EA and work on Azuchi
Castle. I get the xxxxxx, and 4 memorial
album items. I get make throw R11. I
recommend doing throw practice at Azhuchi Castle Mid, floor 4. There is a sweet spot at the bottom right
corner that is a right angle. The NPC
funnel there and get stuck in the funnel.
The distance across the boxes that make up the funnel is just a bit too
long for swords. The two NPC level 49
Evil Martial Artists use swords so they can not reach you and just bounce back
and forth in the funnel area while you can practice your throw or snipe,
guns.bows, crossbows and rifles. Each
round in that area gains about 33 pts of skill if the NPC's do not use any
Elixirs.
I make throw R11.
August 2, Day 656
I move to Colorado Plateau and work my
throwing knife finesse. I end at
35/31/33 and gain throw Quick3 "Une
Deux Trois Quatre" #95 and thriow Feint 3"Invitacion" #96
---------
August 5, Day 659
I move to Niagra River Basin and fight Muller Gang 51
and 52. I don't seem to pick up any techs, but I think my skills and finesse
are too low. I end up at crossbow
15/18/24 finesse and Handgun finesse 8/10/17.
I shift to working on Skills. The
Summer bonus is on for another two days so I work my Merchandise knowledge up
to R7 and snipe skill to R8. The bonus
only works with R7 and under. If I had planned this better I would have gotten
my gunfire out of the skill book at the scholars. As it is, I traded it Cooking which is maxed
R17+2 refined to get out Merchandise Knowledge and of course it is taking
forever to finish that book so that I can access my Gunfire skill. I chose cooking because my alt also has high
level cooking and I don't need both of us to have it. To get gunfire out, I would put max casting
in the skill bookshelf.
-----------
To work merchandise knowledge, i use
Taheebo Juice , Taheebo bottle and Lachrymatory Powder. I work my snipe skill and keep cycling these
items. They all have a low gauge and reasonable re-cast time.
August 12, Day 666
I have shifted over to Alchemy. There is no rush here since there is no bonus
on. The objective is to make a Robe EX that will give me +40% trade goods when
I trade at the market. If I have the
materials for it, I will make a second Nanban EX item. The long term goal is to refine All of my
trade skills and the Robe EX will greatly improve the speed at which I pick up
my Trading skills by increasing the number of goods I am able to trade with a
PO.
-----------
I have to activate my old storage, which
costs a few of my actual real $. I have some left over from the very beginning
and also purchase Special Purchase Bonds which are necessary for Alchemy
Transmutation ingredients. I now need to
make a Robe Base item which starts with Alchemist's Clothes->Adept's
Robe->Alchemist's Robe->(Transmutation Alchemy) -> Alchemist's Robe
EX. It is going to be long as the very
first step to make Alchemist's Clothes takes a lot of collecting large leaves
to make fine dye.
-----------
I spend a whole weekend collecting and
making Alchemist's clothes. I make 100
sets and fail 100 times trying to make one set of Adept's Robe. This is a Great Success in Alchemy
Experiments at my lab desk in quarters.
I run out of red alchemy ointments.
(I need the red alchemy ointments to make Red Ignis Solutions) making
the Robes and so I have to go back to basics and make gold and red solutions.
August 17, Day 671
-------------
I am still working on trying to turn
Alchemist's clothes into an Adepts Robe.
After my 130th set, I discover or think that you must have the
"Adept's" title active to successfully make a robe. I switch titles and continue to make more
sets. I am up to 0 for 160 sets now, 0
for 30 with the title active.
------------]
My lab bench in my quarters started at a
full 100 and is now down to 10 durability. The furniture loses 1 durability for
every 5 or so disasterous fails, so that is 450 or so.
-------------
I
have spent about 10 days now collecting large leaves, Making dye, buying gold,
making ignis solutions, making alchemy pots, buying velvet and embroidery
thread.
-------------
I have gained about 4900 alchemy skill
points; R14 and 4900/16,900. My wares
trade is back up to R14+2 refined (base). My metal trading skill is R13 base.
August 20, Day 674
Finally on my 166th try.. Huge Success! Adept's robe.
----------------
So I had to make many adjustments to get
this done.
----------------
1) Make Alchemist clothes needs 20
Velvet, 15 Embroidery Thread and 3 fine dye.
The Embroidery thread is from silk and sewing kits (Florence). For fine
dye, I needed to go to South America NE coast and collect large leaves for
hours. 30 leaves turns into 1 fine dye
and you need 3 fine dye for the recipe (records keeper at my farm has this
recipe). (I made enough for about 180
sets, or 540 fine dye = collected about 15,000 large leaves.
----------------
2) I worked my Enhanced lab bench from
full 100 durability to having to change my bench to a new one by the end.
----------------
3a) The formula to make Adept's robe is
Alchemist Clothes + Alchemy Pot + Ignis Solution = Adept's robe (very rare)
--------------
3b) In Preparation: Alchemy pots require
2 clay. Ignis Solutions require 1 red
alchemy ointment+ distiller(glassware) + test tubes (glassware). The red Alchemy ointment requires a ton of
gold and rare books. For this portion,
I purchased gold from Veracruz, and move to London to access paper to make
western and rare books. This will take a
ton of PO's or high level wares trade and metal trade. It also requires salt. I just collected a lot of brine and turned it
into salt.
---------------
4) You have to have Transmutation
Alchemy Equipment which requires a completion of several quests. It is +1 stored
documents and not +3. Ivyro estimates
the success rate of the very rare Huge Success is approximately 1:50.
----------------
5) You must have the Adept's title active
to make an Adept's robe!
---------------
6) Once I had the Adept's robe it takes
approximately 30 gold+ 1 strange powder + 5 gaseous drugs + Adept's Robe =
Alchemist Robe. I used a Uroboros book to guarantee the Transmuation
Success. I say approximately, because
using a book increases the required materials to make the transformation.
--------------
7) To do the second part of the
Transformation of the Alchemist Robe to an Alchemist Robe EX requires 15 sewing
and you CANNOT leech the skill. This
requires you to be in the Master Alchemist Job to have 15 sewing and 15 Alchemy
at the same time which is required. I
had to stop , get the quest and make a basic alchemy test kiln and change to
the job.
--------------
8) back to my quarters, and I use the
Alchemist Robe + 5 Special Purchase bonds (cash
item) + 5 10m cheques + Orichalchum
(rare item from the Atlantis dungeon or can be made with Mysterious gold+ 5
special purchase bonds + 5 gaseous drugs (10 green ore+ seal of sylph + flask)
Again I use a book of Uroboros to guarantee the Transformation into Alchemist Robe EX
FIN
August 21, Day 675
--------------
First Day testing out my Alchemist Robe
EX.
I go to Diu twice and pick up two loads
of Silk thread. I make 136 sets of
Velvet Justacorp and deliver them all to the company offices for the month's
activity. It goes pretty quickly.
===========
August 22, Day 676
I move over to Boston/SF for the EA
goods being sold in San Francisco. It
turns out to be Japanese Lanterns (Sundries PO#1) I have stored up a lot of PO #1 from
purchasing lots of Bonanza box #6's I
have been using a ton of bagels/vigor in my Alchemy experiments which comes
from Box #6. I set up shop put on my
Gear and college boosters and i am R11+6 on my Alt, with my EX robe on me I can
purchase 137 lanterns with each PO. .. Nice!
Since my fame is already at max, I just set up aide bazaars in Boston
and sell the lanterns there. It is
crowded with 154 aide bazaars set up in a pretty small area. This does not include the player bazaars
which I am guessing is another 50+.
------
I make some decent money and over 10k
Skill in Sundries Trade skill which is even more important.
August 24, Day 678
I use some boosters and start grinding
my Trade skills. In Valencia I get Metal
Trading to R14 and 75% of the way To R15 on my alt. Next time, I will refine Metal trade. On my main toon, I get to R13 Fabric Trade.
It is very expensive in Vencie. I am
thinking about Art, Dye and Weapons Trading, but have never come across a
recipe that I needed it for.
-------------
I don't really have a plan anymore. I will have to stop and think again about
what my goals are.
===========
September 3, Day 688
I am away from home and only have a
chance to work on Astronomy at the Scholar in San Francisco. I use the old carriage, Train to Omaha, train
back to SF and visit the scholar. I make about 350 trips and make R15. I sail
to St Petersburg and Refine my Astronomy Skill.
September 6, Day 701
I discover that there is a new ship that
requires Adventure level 85 to sail. It
is only 10 total points above a CHC for speed, but it has a Huge Starting base
turn and Wave resistance. I will make one and get it to G3 with all speed
bonuses. 5/11 as opposed to 15/14
============
September 9, Day 704
Today is EA goods in San Francisco. The
good is Wuxu Porcelain I collected lots of PO 3's in the last few days and with
my Nanban EX gear on and my alt wearing craft trade + items He starts at
5500/9680 and R11 refined. At the end of
the day he makes R12 and is at 7324/11520
September 14, Day 709
Worked on my discoveries for the last 4
days. My new strategy for completeing
quests is to look at the list of recently added maps and quests and to do
them.
--------------
End of Day i pas 2700 discoveries.
=============
September 28, Day 723
Not much going on. There is a Leviathan storyline going on, but
I have not taken any part in it. Papaya
is selling "Leviathan" killer ships. They are all galley/rowing type
and I do not have the skill. There is a
tally on the UWO main page that lists the number of victories vs. the
Leviathan. The first time i looked it
was something like 45 challenges, 1 victory.
Now the score is 115 attempts and 45 victories. It must have taken a while to figure out the
trick to defeating the Leviathan and now the top mariners can repeat the battle
at will.
-------------------
We are six months after the the Level
race started on March 27. Amazingly
there are still only 27 players who have reached level 87 Adventure. There are 23 spots left to fill.
I guess this is one of the toughest things
to accomplish as you cannot speed it up by purchasing items or ships, etc.
------------------
Since there are no bonuses or events
that I can participate in, I have continued my adventure grind. It is very slow as the quest are very few and
many of them have long chains of non discovery quests that must be completed.
------------
I am slowly building up my investment in
NA railroads. The one I am currently
investing in is discounts for ship production.
There is a new ship called the Snow Squall which is an upgrade from the
Cruise High Clipper. Of the non cash
ships, it is one of the top ships now.
It has a much better base turn, wave resistance and tiny edge in Sail
speed over the CHC. When I have invested
enough in NA, I will try and make a G5 of SS.
The really tough part for most players is that it requires level 85
Adventure to Sail!
-----------
End of day i have passed 2750
discoveries. I made Rank 27 "Viser" which is apparently better than
"Prince" rank 26 for Ottoman.
October 5, 2019 Day 730
Discovered Gabon (city) and Red Rainbow
(Natural Phenomenon) in the city. I work on my trade skills and grind my Jewelry
Trade skill to R10; and make R15 and refine my Metal Trading skills; I also
work on my Sundries trading but don't get a level. All of the Trade skills that only have one
good to trade in a city is particularly hard to grind. Whereas Jewelry has 4 different trade items
for in Gabon and is much easier to grind.
============
October 9, Day 734
Swapped to sea battles and working my
cannoneer skills. I move around to where
there is safe waters and do Battle reports.
I don't get anything for the xp, but I keep track of where my skills
are. I would prefer to do a grind of
Evasion in the Caribbean except that all the guides say to do a IQ and there is
no Counsul for the Ottoman. I tried every Consul and they all will not talk to
me. I even leveled up my body language
by talking with them.
---------------
I do my first battles in Newfoundland
waters. It am able to defeat a fleet of 5 solo, but I think it would be more
efficient just to do them in the Black sea as, iron, lumber and ports are
closer and the fleets repair more. The
only thing that is easier is that the fleets in Newfoundland are not galleys
and are not always trying to melee me.
I make Gunnery R13 and Accuracy R14
October 13, Day 738
Alternating between Swordmaster and
Cannoneer. I do a BR in the Caribbean
in Safe Waters, then Newfoundland Waters.
I sail to India which is also Safe waters and do a BR as Swordmaster. EA is Safe waters too! I work my way to EA and do another BR as a
cannoneer.
-------------
I would say that the Black Sea seems to
be way harder than Newfoundland or EA.
-------------
After EA, I sail back to Manchester to
make new guns. I sail to the Caribbean
and do an Evasion and cannon skills grind.
The recommended quest if you cannot take the Imperial quest from
Santiago (Wipe out the Caribbean Pirates) is a normal quest in Santo Domingo
called "Mysterious Modified Armor Ship"
------------
I get gunnery, reloading and penetration
up to R14 and make R15 Accuracy.
-----------
I sail to St. Peters Berg and refine my
Accuracy. and make a new set of guns in Manchester
October 19, Day 744
I spend a day collecting vegetable oil,
and making Poupelin Trees. I help out my
company and deliver 80 sets of trees.
My company WindRider Academy gets a
promotion. Not sure what that does, but
it can't be bad.
----------
I load up on lumber in Manchester and
with my high metal trade I sail to Vera Cruz and make lots of tribute for
brigands for my Alt's company. I
deliver approximately 80 sets of those for my alt's company's contribution for
this month as well.
------------
While I am in the Carribean, I do
another cannon grind. I spend several
hours running the Mysterious Modified Armor cannon Grind and get my Gunnery to
R15. I sail to St petersburg and Refine Gunnery.
=========
October 23, Day 748
I try to find a job that prefers evasion
and penetration. These are two skills that I need to keep leveling. I try to switch to Bounty Hunter and find
that I do not have it. I take the quests
for Bodygaurd, Marine Corps and Bounty
Hunter.
------------
I switch to Bounty Hunter and go back to
the Carribean and do another Mysterious Modified Armoured ship again.
October 27, Day 752
I do multiple quests and Boston College
thesis as a Bounty Hunter. I keep
working on my Gunnery, Accuracy, Reloading, Penetration and Evasion.
--------------
November
2, 2019,: Day 757
I grind up my trade skills and Refine fabric Trading, Firearms Trading (on
Me) and Jewellry Trading on my Alt.
----------------
Since this is the second last day of the
Boost, I finally change to Shipbuilder and start upgrading my Snow Squall. I only get it to G3 with Ship Speed up 1 and
2, Emergency Acceleration and Military Camoflage. I Start pumping out ship parts and make about
50 ship parts in 1 day, including 25 Admiral's cabins, 5 large square sails, 4
latin sails, and 15 Traverse ropes. This
ship is just built for speed and will have maximum wave resistance, turn and
sails.
---------------
My final ship looks like:
G3 Expedition ship
V:555
H:581
Turn: 30
Wave 34
Armor:35
8/5 Emergency Accel/ Military Camo
crew/110
guns:50
Cargo 394
Special Improvements SSU 1 and SSU2.
November 11, Remembrance Day, Day 766
I work the last few days just doing EA
runs and collecting Recognition and unlock maps.
I make R12+2 unlock.
------------
I switch over to biology and Ecological
research and camp out in Calicut. I
grind biology and Ecological research for 3 days but do not get any levels
before the skill boost ends.
===========
November 16, Day 771
I camp out in Jaffa and Collect Black
mud and make 2000 firebombs to deliver to my alt's company offices. I then switch to tuna fishing and make 3000
tuna steak to deliver to my company offices.
Contributions are done for this month.
----------------
I go back to collecting seaweed and
making stomach medicine. My goal is to
have 4800 stomach medicine. I checked the history and found i need 1600 ventus
reduction to go with the stomach medicine.
The formula says 6 stomach meds per 1 ventus, but from my prior
experience only half of the experiments actually use the stomach meds, hence
the 3:1 ratio. (for large quantities)
November 24, Day 779
Not much going on.. I have been collecting
seaweed for a week and making stomach medicine.
I have 3500 Stomach meds which translates into about 20k seaweed
collected.
-----------
November 30, Day 785
More of the same. After 4000 stomach
meds, I switched to making gaseous drugs. In the several steps before you can
make the gaseous drugs, you need to make seal of scorcery and seal of
slyph. I used to take a lot of time to
collect mandrake, silver and Salt. Now with
my medicine, seasoning and metal trade skills very high, it takes no time at
all. The only part left is to collect
Green Ore which i cannot buy at any port.
I use my Blessing of Posideon to take 1000x5 green ore across the Suez
Canal to my quarters in Istanbul.
Collecting that still takes one day in the Red Sea West, but now in one
day I can make 500 seal of Slyph-> 750 gaseous drugs-> +1000 ventus
reductions.
-------------
Now back to watching paint dry and
collecting seaweed just outside Seville/Lisbon
December 8, 2019 Day 793
The most boring week so far in this
game. I am up to 8000 stomach meds and
3000 Ventus reductions. I am ready for
any skill boost to start my last bit of Alchemy Grind.
If you think about it.. 8000 stomach
meds requires 48000 seaweed which can only be collected at sea. I did a quick estimate
over 10 minutes and counted the collection log.
48 seaweed
43 logs
8 shrimp
16 crabs
188 brine
12 "nothing discovered"
just a rough estimate, but that is
10,000 minutes of collecting while on the water at port outside Lisbon or
Seville.
----------
I have seen some of the new ships that
require 90th level to sail. Obviously this info was lifted from one of the
Asian Servers. We do not have the
ability to reach level 90 yet, but I am assuming that will come in the next six
months or so.
---------
Back to making discoveries and doing
adventure quests.
============
December 22, Day 807
Not much to report. I made and delvered 135 Velvet Justacorps to
my company. Helping out new players. Doing a quest here and there.
--------------
Atlantis is back on until Christmas so I
made the parts and visited. Got some purple gloves and more of Posideon's
blessings. These are nice when you need
to bring 3000 green ore or 3000 silk thread thru suez. YOu have to have an alt and be able to set up
an aide bazaar. The max you can carry
through the canal in one trip is 1000 so you have to sail through to Cairo with
1000 and set up a bazaar while your alt holds on to the extra 2000 in Suez.
January 2, Day 825
Discovered the Flying Dutchman in CapeTown.
(natural Phenomenon)
------------
I was getting discouraged as I could
hardly find any quests to take for discoveries and so I asked the company
Expert Mad Martha. She pointed me to the
Walkerpedia. This is an online source for all discoveries in the game. It turns out that there are lots of quests
that are available if you are in the correct job and have R17 in the Adventure
skill and R15 in the discovery skill.
I take the Cartographer's job,
take the college thesis for the Cartographer and start doing R17
Geography R15 Recognition quests.
========
January 4, 2020 Day 827
Passed 2800 discoveries.
---------------
Discovered Jacob's Ladder (Natural
Phenomenon) while re-charting Lake Baikal Region (interior of Sea of Okhotsk
West Coast)
---------
The discoveries are very few and even
more tedious to do now. Several maps are
% chance rewards for RE-charting a land area.
I would say on average there is a 25% chance of getting a map each time
you do the Re-chart. Just pretend that
you had to complete a quest and only had a 25% chance of getting the discovery.
Discoveries are down to 1-2 per day.
Ouch.
Jan 27,
Day 850 Not writing much lately.
only doing maybe 1-2 quest per day. They are hard to find. I have to be in Boston Job where R17 is the
new cap before the Skill specific quests show up. there are about 15 per skill.
Jan 22 a +100% skill and xp boost
started so I switched to Alchemy. I have
been waiting for this for a while.
===========
Feb 1, 2020 Day 855
Made R15 Alchemy. It is NOT refinable. Switched to trade skills and worked on
Perfume Trade, Made R13; Sundries Trade,
Made R14; Jewelry Trade, Made R13; and
Dye Trading, Made R12.
------------
Going to switch to Land battle skills.
Swordplay, Sword Mastery, Snipe, Gunfire.
I will be running any dungeon with a discovery until I find the
Discovery.
----------
Completed Abu Simbil Lower multiple
times. Discovered King's Obituary
Feb 8, day 862
More dungeons, My Ruin Exploration rate is 1100. I move to Planeque (Vera Cruz) and do the
dungeon several times. I discover 96-letter Lithograph. I make Swordmastery R10, Snipe R10, gunfire
R9.
==========
February 15, Day 869
More dungeons, Lima, moslty, Palenque
and Bordeaux just a few times. My Ruin
Exploration rate is 1400. I discover
Catecomb Bones in Lima middle. Both
Palenque and Bordeaux are good places for me to train my Swordplay and Sword
Mastery. If the NPC's level is 41 or
lower I do not get any Swordplay skill I am 6000/19,000 R14. and 10,000/12,100
R11 Sword Mastery. I should be able to
refine my Swordplay skill before February 26 when this 100% skill bonus wears
off.
-------------
I have made 2850 discoveries.
March 1, 2020 Day 886.
at the end of the skill boost on Feb
26th, I have refined Dye Trading (now R7+2 refined); Perfume trading (now R9+2
refined) Sundries Trading (now R7+2 refined) and Livestock Trading (now R6+2)
---------------
Most players are aware, but for those
new to the game, There are Mysterious
Bonanza boxes on sale in North America every few days. There are 8 different box types that come up
for sale usually once per month. So a new box is available on average every 4
days. You can check out
https://unchartedwaters.fandom.com/wiki/Railway_Events
for the boxes and events in North
America.
I list this information because each box
costs 1M and on average roughly 20% of those boxes contain Purchase orders (come
in sets of 10's). This means if you
opened 10 boxes for 10M you would get on average 2 sets of 10 purchase
orders. This means if you sell the PO's
for 500k each, all the other 8 items are free!
Shhhhh. (don't tell anyone) hhaha.
I don't usually sell mine, but use them to grind up my trade skills.
Now you know why there are so many aide
bazaars in Seville selling PO's.
------------
After the skill boost, I keep on going
with land battles as a Sword Master and
work on four things simultaneously.
1) New discoveries hidden in
dungeons. I discovered
Marble Statue of Archimedies in Syracuse
mid
Ancient Amphjora in Rome Church mid
Ancient Copper mirror Sognsuri upper
Buried Glassware Rome Church upper
Catacomb bones Lima mid
Mural of Rameses II Abu Simbil Lower
Statue of Pharaoh Hatshepsut Luxour
Lower secret passage
Tile Fragment Lima Upper
2) memorial album items in various Treasures of Luxor, Abu Simbel, the Pyramids,
Treasures hidden in Ruins etc..
3) Swordplay (Now R1+2 Refined!) and
4)Sword Master skill (R12)
Finesse skills and Techs I have been
using a great lighthouse axe to do some of the tougher levels. My axe finesse is now 17/19/14 and I am
working on yellow R3 tech. I picked up
Axe Fierce Blow R3 (Tech # 97) and Axe Wild Swing R3 (Tech 98)
March 11, Day 896
I switched to doing regular adventure
quests that Require R17/R15. I combine
this with the Boston Thesis for each job.
Things go slow and steady and i make it up to 2880 Discoveries. My artist thesis gives me points for making
ornaments so I have 5+ skill ornaments in my display room in quarters.
------------
There is a skill boost that will be on
starting today so I will likely go back to land battle skills to work up either
Sword Mastery/Gunfire and snipe/I will likely do a couple days of sea battles
and melee skills hopefully I can get at least one or two more skills refined.
