    March 14, Day 899

The lost Memories 3.0 has been
updated.   There are new level 90 ships
and the level cap of course has been lifted to 90.

    -------------

during the first two weeks there is also
a +100% skill buff on.  I decide to spend
my first few days in North America.  I
set up for making eggs and chickens. I also spend my time in two key adventure
jobs;  Court gardener and Priest.  Both of these jobs have adventure skills as
well as Storage as preferred skills.  I
am able to store eggs into chickens while browsing the archives in San
Francisco.  It is weird to have two
simultaneous activities on auto mode while i just do my real life work on the
side.  Every 5 -10 minutes I have to
reload my vigor and train out and back into SF to reset the browse archives,
    but it goes amazingly well.

    ----------

For those unsure of how I make xp, you
need to look at the investment bonuses for each railroad.  Investing in the last railroad on the list
East Coast Railroad unlocks a bonus for each great success.  if you invest 40m in it you get a +10 xp
bonus for each great success. at 150M, you will get a +20 bonus xp. and +30 at
    900M.

    -----------

In the first three days of the bonus, I
make about 600m trade xp and 20,000 adventure skill points spread over various
skills.  I make R13 Refined Archeology,
R13 refined Art, R14 refined Biology and R13 refined Geography.

    March 22, Day 907

From day 17-20 I switch to Maritime and
do two BR per day.  Half way through BR
    #7 the NA Festival Starts.

    --------

I put my BR on hold and go to NA to take
advantage of the bonuses.   There are so
many good choices, but #1 on the list is to get free adventure xp. #2 is mostly
land battles to get adventure and Maritime XP.

    --------

I change to the Court Gardener job and
work my skills in Gunfire, Snipe and Traps.
I slow down the speed of the land battles to maximize the amount of
skills that I get.  Instead of speeding
through 500 battles per day, I do around 380.
With the skills boost on, for every 100 land battles, I make around 2000
skill in Gunfire, 2000 snipe and 500-1000 Trap (depending on how much I pay
    attention).

    --------

Third on the list is to grind up my
adventure skills while auto producing eggs/chickens.

Needless to say, this is hugely
beneficial as you can get both trade xp and adventure skill xp in NA.  I have over 350 headache medicine stored up
for such a boost, but in case you do not have meds, you can just train back and
forth to SF and browse the books each time!

Grind, Grind, Grind.  Rest on March 25th after the update when the
boost is no longer on.  I will let you
know where my skills end up when the boost is finished.

    ---------

    Made level 88 Trade

    March 29, Day 914

Obtained rifle Blue R3 tech Wild shot. (#99)in
    NA, Niagra River Basin.

Obtained tech, Leg Hold Trap R3 Trap
    Tech (#100)

    ---------

So I worked on so many things in the
    last 2 weeks.

Trade skills, 1500 land battles during
the North American Thanksgiving festival, Gunfire, Snip and Trap skills, lots
of trade xp, from my old chicken egg trick. Maritime melee skills
Assault/plunder from 8 Battle Reports. (I avoided the Black sea as it was full
    of players grinding xp levels

    --------

I have a new favourite location for land
battles in NA.  it is now the Niagra
River Basin vs the level 51 and 52 Muller Gang at the center of the map.  At that level, I get xp for all my
skills.  Some of the lower level (38 or
less) NPC do not grant skill xp if you battle them and your weapon skill is
    high.

Every day I do about 200 land battles
here and grind my gunfire/snipe and trap skill in the Gardener Job.

    ---------

In my quest to achieve level 90
Adventure which will take about 1.8M xp i have done some research into how to
get xp "quickly."  I think if
you really wanted to spend real cash, you could purchase a lot of "Mead of
Poetry" and do high level Treasure hunts and gain 3500 xp per quest.

Normally you can only do this once per
day.  A Mead of Poetry, resets the
ability to do another TH in the same day. They are currently selling for around
    70M, so say 10 for 700M or 100 for 7B.
That means for 7B, I could gain 3500x100 or 350,000 xp in one day. 14B
    would get me a level.

I have tested one TH that takes 2
minutes to complete and I have the ability to make endless clues as a Priest,
so I can see that this is a possibility.

    -----------

The two other methods I tested were land
battles in Rome dungeon and discovering/reporting religion maps from Istanbul
    at Seville.

    April 13 , Day 929

Learned Greek Fire fuse R3 Trap and Range
    Spear trap R3.

    I now have 102 Techs.

    ------------

Since I am "Sheltering at home, I
have a lot of extra time to work on my Character.  The goals are Raw Adventure XP and Adventure
skills.  Every day I do about 30,000
adventure xp.   My daily activity is very
    similar, i do:

300 land battles in Niagra River Basin,
    (in Gardener Job)

    1000 gunfire, 1000 Snipe, 200 trap,

Collecting for 1h in North America.

3 Ship wrecks, (in Cartographer Job)
1000 Haul, to get the skill xp, i drop the ship at 80% and begin to raise the
    wreck from 0% again.

    1 Treasure Hunt (in Excavator's Job )
Tunis  (this only takes me 5 minutes
    tops)

    20 R9 Search/Theology maps(in Priest
Job) from Istanbul and discover/report them in Seville for 1200 search.  (My Theology is already base) R17+2 refined.  If I have not explained this before,
completing the Priest's Research from Boston is Critical.  After completing this Thesis, you can be in a
Priest Job and browse the Theology Archives endlessly.  This allows you to collect endless Treasure
hunt clues AND maps.  To collect maps,
you must have an alt toon that you can store maps on.  If you have a map in inventory, you cannot get
it again.  If you pass the map to an alt,
you can browse the archives again and get the same map over again.  The R9 Theology map is obtained in Istanbul
and is discovered in the Archives in Seville.
I report the discovery next door and then go back and make the same
    discovery 1 minute later.

    One Folklore quest from Sagres.

    ------------

In the last 14 days I have Obtained:

Tech #103 Mystery Shot, from the Muller
Gang NPC51 in Niagra River Basin. Yellow R3 handgun tech.

Obtained Tech #104 Snipe From Muller
Gange NPC #51 R3 Red Rifle Tech.
Obtained Tech #105 Blue R3 Gun tech Rapid Draw.

Obtained Tech #106 R3 Red Gun Wild
    Bullet

Obtained Tech #107 R3 Yellow Rifle.

My Handgun Finesse is 36/39/41 and I am
almost ready to try for the R4 handgun techs. (by using a Tech Instruction
Manual, an Original game bonus, I have 3 and have never used any)

    I make level 88 Adventure.

    April 13,  Day 935

Continuing with land battles in North
    America

Obtained Tech #108 R3 Red Crossbow Iron
    Arrow Strike Muller Gang NPC52

Obtained Tech #109 R3 Yellow Crossbow
Flying Arrow Strike Muller Gang NPC52

I obtained my first R4 tech.
    Tech #110 Handgun Power R4,

One of my company mates was also working
on these techs and picked up all R4 gun and all R4 crossbow techs.

I am slowly working towards that.  I still have a very packed day with lots of
    skill grinding.

My handgun finesse is 47/49/41 and I
    make R15 Snipe.

    April 25, Day 947

I found my new location to practice land
battle, gunfire/snipe and Trap.  The location
is Omi on Japan East coast inland.  The
spot is right in front of the dungeon entrance where there is 1 level 60NPC and
4x level 52 NPC.  Doing a complete battle
without aides will gain me about 170 adventure xp and 85 maritime xp per
battle.  It is an excellent place for
Trap skill grinding as I can always get 2 npc in my area traps and sometimes
    all 5!

    -------------

There is a +100% skill boost event going
on as well so during the boost, I have refined Gunfire and will continue to
work Trap/Salvage and try my hand at accounts, body language and Sociability.

    -----------

My Shipwrecks are up to 377 and I am
working on Folklore discoveries.   I also
do one TH from Tunis each day just for the easy adventure xp.  I expect to be level 90 adventure at my next
    posting!

    May 3, Day 955

Obtained Entrancing Arrow R3 Trap Tech
from NPC Muller Gang Lv51 in Niagra River Basin. Also Obtained New Wild Shot R4
Power handgun Techs #112 and #113.  I am
going to go for my R5 hangun tech.

    ------------

I finally make level 90 Adventure!

    ------------

To get here I am at 389 Shipwrecks, and
over 2900 Discoveries.   I have completed
    all the Folklore quests/discoveries.

    -----------

One of the keys to collecting Adventure
XP is ALWAYS making the new player Astronomy discovery every 3 days, and
completing the TH (Italian Sword and Shield) Map to the General's Signet Ring
EVERY.  One of the requirements for doing
the repeated TH quests for about 4k is to have completed the Boston Priest
Studies which allows you to collect clues and Archive maps endlessly.

The last bit of grinding was discovering
endless R9 Theology maps from Istanbul and going to Seville each day to report
and gain XP.  I now have base R15+2
    refined Search skill.

    ----------

For the next 18 days or so, while the
+100% skill boost is on,  I  will work on my Salvage Skill, Trap and
Sociability skill.  I will add a bit of
Accounts in as well, but it is extremely hard to grind even with a 100% skill
    boost.

    ------

Also as a side goal, I will pick up as many
    Jobs that I am missing.

    ---------

    May 9, Day 961

I pick up Millionaire, and Tea Merchant
    Jobs

    ------------

Obtained Adventure tech #114 "Boulder Drop"  R3 Power Throw tech, #115 Rotation Rapide, and R3 Finesse Throwing tech #116 "Shadow Stitch" while
grinding my land battle skills in Omi.  I make R13 Trap.

    -------------

completed my 394'th ship wreck. For my  last few I
have been raising the wreck to 80% and then dropping it and starting
again.  With the 100% skill boost going I make R15 Salvage Skill.  I am done Ship Wrecks for a while.

    -----------------

I discover Bola in Omi in front of
Azuchi Castle. This is Tech #117 Leg trap R3.

I do Azuchi Castle around 10 times
trying to get the discoveries hidden in the different levels.  I make no discoveries but I do obtain a
Nanban Tetsu (Rifle) which is a Memorial Album item.  I dump all the goods that I collect and only
keep true EA goods.  I dump Japanese
bows, armor and lacqure ware etc. Keep Tan rifles, Iwami Silver etc.

    ----------

I swap from gunfire R11+2,  to throwing daggers and keep grinding.  I am now working throw and trap skills.  I make Trap R13 and Throw R12.  I make two Yatagan Attack 100's for the next
    throw grind.

    May 14, 2020 Day 966

A couple minor points that I learned
    recently.
      I always thought that you
could only get one book from investing at a particular city.
Once you got that book you were finished.  If I wanted another, I used my alt to make
the investment to get another book.

Well, since I started my Sociability grind, I found out that you get a
book every time you make the required investment IF you do not have that book
    currently in inventory.
      So if you need a
Handicraft book "Sculpting-Famous persons" from Pisa, you can pass
the book to an alt or put it in the bank, make the required investment in the
city again and get another book.

    May 23, 2020 Day 975

I finished my skills grind with the 100%
bonus that ended on May 20.

Skills that I worked on and achieved at
the end of this grind:  I  made, Throw R14,  Trap R14, Accounts R8, Sociability R11.  Of these, Accounts must be the hardest to
grind as there is no good way to grind it and there is no way to make
    renegotiation demand letters.  In
addition, to this the Turks do not have a good pair of cities to sail back and
forth to, to make trades and haggle.  The
best they have is Odessa and Sevastapol.

    ------------

After the skill boost, I make a few
Cannon/carronande 18's and do a BR in the Black Sea.  Black Sea Quests have been bumped up in XP
rewarded. It is now 103,000xp instead of 63,000.  (Not sure if this is the case because my alt
still only gets 63Kas it may be the effect of mentoring. But from the Mentor
info, you can't mentor someone who is over level 40. So maybe it is for players
that are level 87 or higher?!?)  I make level 89 Maritime.  Even with the xp increase, It will still take
me another 5+ BR to make level 90.

    --------------

I switch to a bit of adventure and do
all 10 new discoveries with the new Lost Memories 3.5 update "Azure
    Cetus."

    ------------

There are a few new features in the
game.  One is called Sea of Wonders
(SOW), the other is the new "Sea Monster" Cetus.  Looks like a Carp,  3-4 x size of the largest ship in the
game.   Essentially, it is a big sea
monster that you need to have a large fleet with superior Equipment and skills
to defeat.   It really helps if you have
some of the equipment or ship designed to defeat the monster.

    ----------

One of the other features that the game
included was essentially eliminating the cap quests on adventure or maritime to
unlock level 60+.  Both of these features
had worthy quests required to complete before allowing a player to
progress.  Now they are way easier to
    complete.

    ----------

    Special Report.

     IRL this (Oct 13-19th)
Oct 14th? is supposedly the third anniversary of the Maris server.  My logs show that I was already over 1100
days and that can't be correct.  I went
back and found I had made errors on
October 5, 2019, January 2, 2020 (added about 10 days on each error) and I did
two reports that listed April 13, 2020.
The second should have read April 19, 2020.   I am approximately 22 days off the correct
    days into this server.
      Today's date
should be day 960, Not 982 if we took the last report and added days. Antonio Pigafetta would not be pleased.

  • patersmith66patersmith66 Posts: 503Member Intermediate

    May 30, 2020 Day 960, Not 982.

Completed another BR in Black Sea as a
    Cannoneer.

    --------

Switched to work on Boston Job
Theses.  I work on and complete;Great
    Adventurer's growth 1; Ranger's Growth 1 Rangers Knowledge 1; Treasurer
    Hunter's Growth 1 ; Thief Eyes 1; Court Gardner's Growth 1, 2.

    ---------

I decide to get the new Trader job.
Business Tycoon.  I have refined Wares,
Metal Trade and Jewelry Trade.  It takes
3 trips or so to make the required goods to deliver.

    ---------

I do two Battle reports in the Black
Sea.  Three more and I will level my last
    maritime level.

    June 7, 2020 Day 968

    ----------------

At the last update there is a SW
competition that has started.  I won't
get close to the top Salvagers but I decide to take the Salvager job and grind
out some.  I do about 30 wrecks in 5
days.  I figure I will end up with 70-100
wrecks by the end.  All I am really
looking for is #1) memorial album items, #2 consumable items such as
renegotiation demands, headache medicine, custom tailoring tools and  Master Smithy tools.

    -----------------

I keep on investing in Railroads, and
bringing a few EA goods back to Europe depending on how my SW's go.   I am doing an awful lot of auto sailing
    using tow permits.

  • patersmith66patersmith66 Posts: 503Member Intermediate

    June 13, 2020 Day 974

    ----------

I maxed Salvage at R16.  It cannot be refined.  Now, If I am in Salvager job, the only bonus
is that i can tell which sea zone the SW is in and I get to skill unlock with
each chest that is locked.  The value of
goods and items on a SW must go down fairly quickly as I just dump 85% of the
items that I pick up.  Today I am up to
98 Shipwrecks for this competition.  I
estimate 6 chests per SW so we are a 600 chests and about 30-40% are
    items.

    -------

The best item i ever got from a SW is
the super rare "Large Storm Sail."
That is one in 500 SW's  I must
have picked up 4 medium storm sails in the last 100 SW.   Lots of ship parts, but mostly junk.
