2.7M to remove 1200raisins from product storage in Sakai which is in boom. I used a NPC and traded 1800 wine for 1800 Saori. Nice!
----------
I completed enough EA discoveries/quests to complete the thesis "hide discovered quests"This is a critical long term adventure (college) skill needed to be active to pull many of the higher level quests. Discovered Thick Fog (Natural Phenomenon) on Japan SE coast. I also completed the two Taiwan memorial albums. The reward for one of them is a +2 sundries trade outfit, which will come in handing for my alt who has to grind it for one of the +3 furnitures. I also planned ahead and picked up some of the trade goods needed to complete the Japanese dish memorial album. The reward for that is a +1 firearms trade outfit, which I also need for my grind to make another of the +3 furnitures.
I looked into which version of the +3 document storage is easier to make and skill more useful to get. I need either R8 Sundries or R10 Perfume. There are about 30 different perfumes in the game, 20 which are purchasable and only ONE sundry that you can buy (Western books). Yet the western books and sundries trade is more useful to me because I can use it to purchase western books for grinding Alchemy. Anyhow, I used up all of my PO 1's on my alt and got his Sundries trading up to R6+2 so I can make those +3 document bookshelves now. I spent the day collecting saws and materials to make them. I found afterwards there is a new +2 sundries trading item called Traveler's comb which you can make in NA during the Thanksgiving Festival. It requires gold thread and Japanese Laquer, but that is not an issue for me.
----------------
I discovered a Sand Tornado (natural phenomenon) while doing a quest in the land area Sahara.
Picked up quests going from Europe to the Caribbean, then took a rail from Boston to San Fran and did more quests going to Hawaii. Sailed on to EA, picked up my +1 Firearms trade reward for completing the Japanese foods memorial album.I didquests and discoveries until one of the Japanese cities went into special status for alcohol trade. Edo went into festival status and so I pulled 1050 raisins from my product storage and made wine. With a NPC, I traded 1800 wine for 1800 paper lanterns.
------------
Sailed back to San Francisco, railed to Boston then sailed north to set up to collect berries and yellow ore.
---------
In the evening I did some 20 runs in Bordeaux to get some PO 3's to use to buy Firearms. I made R6 Firearms trade, +4 with my Montsuki outfit, golden sceptre and turquoise earrings, then sailed to Bremen to meet my alt with lumber and yellow ore to make zink and Brass for +3 Trade Goods furniture.
---------
At the end of the day I passed 970 discoveries and made level 80 Trade.
A day for collecting. I have to do lots of work irl, so I will set up to do collecting white ore/berries and logs (diamonds and lumber for my company storage) and berries for my quarters storage aide to turn into more raisins for EA trade. Then later I will set up for searching saws and hammers in Europe for more furniture.
I encountered a strange situation while leading an adventure quest. I had 4 out of 5 fleet members with me when I completed the quest. The other fleet members did not have all of the skills needed and at least one had no skills in the fields needed, but completed the quest when I did the search. The last fleet member had R3 search and 0 appraisal. The quest needed R7 Search and R9 appraisal. Even though I was standing right there, when he tried to search, he could not make the discovery. We gave him some +search and got him to R6 search and he made the discovery even with R0 appraisal! I do not know what the exact restrictions are, but I don't come across it too often as my alt's skill are not too bad.
--------------
The quest was the first part to open Azuchi Castle. We completed the first two quests andwe discovered the tortoiseshell comb needed to unlock the quest for Azuchi mid on our first run of that dungeon.
-----------
End of day I made Adventure level 73! and 980 discoveries.

-----------
End of day I made Adventure level 73! and 980 discoveries.
I am in Europe helping a company mate make cannons and work casting skills. My mineral trade is R13+6 and wares trade is R11+2. With 11 PO 2's I can fill a bazaar with 2000 iron ore, copper ore, lead ore, tin ore and coal.
-----------
The rest of the day was spent doing EA discoveries and a bit of trade in Korea.
I unlocked Fort San Domingo mid levels and I finished all 8 of the memorial albums in EA.I received a Qiongyugao. An memorial album item"a gift from influential figures" for doing trade in EA.
More adventure quests, then I came back to Europe. I help a couple company mates, prepare for the NA Thanksgiving festival. I made sure they have the fisher job, fishing skill, collection skill, storage skill, unlocked Caribbean (fame) port permit, and field studies college skill.Since they have low level cooking (R1), I will bring a few chickens and get them to endlessly process chickens and eggs. Not too much to report.
-----------
End of day 1010 discoveries, 225/289 areas Charted.
The NA Thanksgiving festival is not on.The site I checked used to say April 7th 20 O'clock start, now it says delayed until after ESF??? I do not think there is an ESF on.
I will collect berries anyhow in NA, and fill my quarters in Istanbul so my aide can make more raisins for EA. After that I will be searching for saws in Beruit outskirts to make +3 ship parts furniture for my company.
I am pretty busy in real life for the next few days, so I will not be doing too much. Mostly collecting/making furniture and selling stuff at bazaars. Today I made +5 Skill bookshelves. While I was in NA collecting, I went to Boston College and changed to a priest and took the college thesis for that job.
I took the Suez canal and a quest to India. I will work adventure quests from India/Jakarta/Hangzhou on my RL breaks. At the end of the day I completed 10 theology quests and the Boston College thesis. The Boston College skill that I can get/use from that is to up my Maximum Rank for Theology to R17. That is kind of a useless skill. Why not just use a R15 as a priest and hold/wear +2, or +2 regular college skill? Maybe there is something I am missing. This skill would be much better if it gave you a +10% xp/skill or something for doing Theology quests.
--------------------
Also my 30 day +30% xp and fame have ended so I will not be pushing the adventure charting. If I do want to chart an area, I may have to do 2 at a time. (Chart an area, pop a +50% xp for 1h, report the area, then chart another area and report it before the bonus runs out) The last land area that I charted was worth over 4700 xp and the last sea zone I charted was worth over 7,000xp.
I changed to Cartographer job and took the Boston College thesis for it.It will be 10 geography maps to finish this one. I will do a world tour again but this time going around Africa as I have some maps around South America and South Africa. While leaving Boston, there were 2 solo pirates sitting at the docks. There was also a bounty hunter sitting just a little off the port and when I left, they piratesstarted to follow. The BH said "pass safely my friend." and sailed between the pirates and me.. the pirates turned around and went back to port... Nice! I wish I remembered the BH's name.
-----------
Note on pirates. Since I have made tribute for pirates (large) a while ago, I have used 4 tributes so far.I estimate that I get attacked once every 10 days or so. I am sure it could be less if I tried to avoid them, but I don't wait at port if they are camped out. I just sail and let them hit me for half my cash on hand and one tribute. There are a pile of them sitting outside of Boston right now and since part of Caribbean and North America West coast is lawless waters, you cannot use tribute with them.Doesn't stop me. I put my excess money and goods in the bank. I sail right out of Boston because I don't want to waste time. I get hit by a pirate who steals 1M and a self made weapon from me. Nothing I have is worth stealing. I don't talk to the pirate, I just use a life saver and sail on.The real asset, and most valuable thing in this game is TIME, not money or items. If you are worried, put your good stuff in the bank, but NEVER let pirates steal your time. (make you wait at port) Passed 1030 discoveries.
Quiet day as I was out of the house for most of it.Did some quests between San Francisco and EA. Passed 1040 discoveries.
===========
Friday April 13, Day 178
Back to EA for more quests. I will bring a load of goods thru North America when I go back, unless someone needs help in India or the Middle east.
---------
This weekend there is a ESF going on in Ancona. French/Dutch/Ottoman vs Venice/English. I will try to be on for Saturday's event.I have not studied the event very well and do not know about how to help support a defender by bringing supplies and fortifying the defending city. All I do know is that it is a fairly easy way to geta few court ranks.I do have my small battle boat ready for the event. I will just have to make or buy a few cannons or carronades.I might make some Garuda (figureheads) for sale in my aide bazaar as well.I should be able to defect soon, as my status with the Turks is at Amity and the 4 nations Spain/Venice/English/French have been at distrust for a while now.
ESF day. I woke up late, and went to Seville to get some guns, None! I sailed to London, prepared to make some Rapid 18's, but settled on some 16's for sale because I was short on time. The battle is at Ancona, near Venice. Sad thing is I did not have enough time to show up before the event and fleet so I was stuck alone and had a hard time trying to get a fleet, while everyone was sailing around.
... and as I learned, you cannot participate if you are solo. You MUST be in a fleet.
so much for today's esf. Next time, I will take the quest with my alt and fleet with him!.
I might also suggest that the ESF info show a meeting city for the attackers or defenders, where new players or solo players can meet up and join a fleet. The ESF info lists Syracuse, Naples or Bengazi as allied cities, but that does not help much for solo players.
----------
End of day, passed 1080 discoveries. 230/289 areas charted.
Contribution day.One company has Poupelin trees, the other grilled salted Pirarucu.
I came back to the Med to help a company mate do the Legend of the Labarynthos quest. Before I redid the quest I had the craftsman turn my original discovery card into the Knossos palace display item. It has +5 effect duration. My quarters are 60% completed to being R5 quarters. I will see how these display items affect me when it is done. After the quest, I set up for collecting beehives and vegetable oil in Salonika.I stocked the company shared storage, then make a second trip to collect berries and make jam.I also continue to fill up my quarters with berries for my aide to turn into raisins.
-------------
I help out another company mate with cooking grinding. I get some mysterious spices and have him make all of the poupelin. Starting from R8+5 (with mysterious spices) he made R10 cooking. He got the cook job so we could get him to make the Poupelin Trees as well. R10+1+5 for the R16 cooking recipe. We filled the company storage with 999 poupelin Trees.
Back to adventure quests. I did a long tour of the world in the Naturalist job and picked up quests from Seville going to St.George, St. George going to Cape. Cape going to the Middle East etc. Nothing too exciting.
Thanksgiving Festival is on in NA. I will do my normal collections and then fix my gear up to do land battles for the next three days. All of my weapons are in poor shape. Even though I have not been using them, they take damage while sailing when the ship is in "unusual status, ie. poor sanitation, rats, fire, etc."
----------
I have 2 spears, 2 flamberge and 2 yatangans to switch thru during fighting, but only focus on my flamberge as they are not 900+ forte. I turn on a 7 day Tech acquisition booster. If I am in a fleet helping company mates I focus on traps and completing each fight in around 20-25 seconds. If I am by myself, I focus on gaining Quick/Feint/Power points and levels.I need to raise these levels to get the higher weapon techs.
At the end of the day I have done 300+ land fights and gained one new level 2 sword tech, Strong Slash. (requires Power R6)
More land battles. Another 300 land battles and another new tech Trick Sword, (Requires Feint R6)
============
April 19th, Day 184
More land battles. Another 300 land battles. I made a quick trip back to Europe to fix my sword and halberd. Dropped off another load of berries to my quarters for the aide production and made 4 Shipwrights quarters for a company mate in Istanbul at the dock master. From what I hear, there are no dock masters in the Caribbean yet.
I helped a lot of newer players get their maritime and adventures levels up by fleeting while doing lots of land battles.
-----------
I will continue with the land battles but picked up snipe skill and a bow and club while I was in Europe. Both of these weapon categories have low feint requirements to get extra weapon techs, so after the festival ends, I will be working Power./Quick/Feint with my club and bows. I will keep working these while my 7 day Tech Acquisition increase booster is still on.
--------
I make level 70 Maritime and find that I am capped and have to do the unlock quest. It takes me 9 tries to solo a Wallenstein mission, and unlock Maritime 70. A tip in the Colosseum is that the NPC's never use traps/items that need an antidote, so I could have replaced it with a 3rd cure.
My method of success involved a lot of burn traps, running around and curing myself.
---------
At the end of the day I leveled in Both Adventure and Maritime.
Sailed to Hamburg and went to Frankfurt, met Alias and unlocked Maritime 76-80.
I am set for a while, so I plan to do land battles for Power/Quick/Feint for 3 days, then switch to Maritime.Today my goal is to get to Feint R2 for bows and learn the two new bow techs that need Snipe R4 and Feint R3. If I get my Snipe to R4, I will buy some equipment and try to get the Musketeer job.
-----------
I reviewed my long term goals and this is what I came up with. (in no particular order)
Complete my R5 Quarters and install the maximum number of display ornaments allowable (ie. figure out how the ornament bonuses work)
-------------
Long Term
-get ALL jobs, including Grand Admiral, Fillibuster Assault R14, Plunder R12(Maritime) Great Adventurer, Ranger(BioR15), (Adventure) ;Master Alchemist and Millionaire (Trade)
-Invest at least 1B in EACH of the different railways to get most of the special effect bonuses in NA. Each will require 50 days x 20M investment for each railway, not including event days when you cannot invest.
-learn and participate in an academy debate.
-open all and solo all dungeons
-learn and explore the two endless dungeons at least to level 20 or so.
-achieve the deepseeker/ruin explorer titles.
-assemble clues and complete ALL of the treasure hunt quests at least once.
-learn the new pet system and get a pet!
-unlock and complete charting ALL land zones.
---------
Very long term
Make (close to) every discovery. We must be around 3000 now.
I was doing land battle in the Caribbean, but we had a new company member join, so I sailed back to Europe to help get him set up.I suggested he finish all his schools, but he wanted to work on cooking so I set up a bazaar for him to cook from. He only got to cooking r8 as I had to go out.
------------
Ended up not doing many land dungeon runs as I was helping others to start the Atlantis quest. My Sword Tech (Yellow) ended up at Feint10 and I picked up New Lifting slash.
Back to dungeon runs. Today I am working sword (Blue/Quick.) I saw one of the NPC's use the tech "New Sure Arrow" but 1) I was using a sword at the time and 2) I could not kill the NPC quickly enough.I have to be quicker and swap weapons next time. After that I swapped to using the bow first I got my Snipe up to R4+4. I decided to sail to Marseilles andI picked up the Musketeer job for both myself and my alt. It took a lot of time running around using burn traps to wear them down. It was very similar to the unlock Maritime 70+ quest.
--------
While grinding weapon finesse ranks, in the Bordeaux dungeon, I came up with a method not described anywhere. I am kind of proud of myself for coming up with it. It is for those who really want to grind finesse ranks. The method described in all of the guides recommend partnering and working one colour when working finesse. The method described does not help much if you are solo and use a finesse booster. The finesse gain for a 5 chain solo is 85 points. In Bordeaux, there are two NPC on each of the first two floors. Neither hit too hard so it is easy to run around and wait until you get 3 slots filled with the tech colour you are working on. Wait another 15-20 seconds and you can unleash a 5 tech combo. Once the first npc is dead, switch weapons and stack 3 more of the other weapon/finesse and after anohter 15-20 seconds, unload another 5 chain combo on the second NPC with a different weapon. This way, when I was lucky I was able to gain 85 points in Sword/Feint and 85 points in Bow/Power in a single battle.
--------
Post edit.. I don't do this anymore, because I am way too lazy.I just stay on one colour and try to get chains 7-11 depending on if the NPC heals itself or not.
-----
I find grinding weapon finesse extra boring. It is the same 2 NPC's on the first level and the same 2 NPCs on the second level of Bordeaux. It is a bonus to get some PO2's and PO3's. At the end of the day my Ruin exploration rate is 273.
Did my first 6 and 7 chain of techs with my alt today on NA east cost. Soloing I can chain 5 techs and get up to 85 finesse pointswith my +150% finesse booster.
With a 2alt-5main combo I have gotten 117 finesse points! The way described in the guides is much better for the sole reason that you don't have to wait the full time to get 4+ techs loaded in your queue before you start the combo. While soling I have to wait for about 70 seconds .. while fleeted, I can start after 30 seconds or so.
---------
At the end of the day I got my spear Power finesse up to R8.
Holy cow. I got my first 9 chain! and 185 Power Finesse points from One Fight! Nice! There is a bit of luck involved in getting a 9 chain off. The NPCs that I am fighting have only 430 health, and usually die after a 6 chain. For a 9 chain to work, the NPC has to use an elixir/assorted of health/medication, just before he is about to die, giving him enough health to take another 3 techs.Picked up triple slash (Tech #64), New Fierce Strike(#65), New Sure Strike (#66), New Spear Throw (#67) and Trick Axe (#68) Now not to sound crazy. After I got my Sword Power finesse to R9, I switched to club/staff.. My flamberge is attack 39. My "staff of the dead" is only attack 16 and so the tech combos from the staff don't do as much damage. With some luck and timing I was able to get an 11 chain, and 265 finesse points from one battle!!! hochee mama. Tech battles are not so boring anymore. There is too much info here, so I will just give my highest Finesse Ranks at the end (Sword) Power 9; Quick 20, Feint 22.I will have to search out the specific NPC with the Rank 3 sword techs in the future.
--------------
At the end of the day, my tech acquisition booster ran out, so I made my way to London to do some quests, leading to the unlocking of Atlantis. Discovered a waterspout (natural phenomenon near Las Palmas 15370:3674
Out most of the day again. Not much done except a few Adventure quests from London and the three needed to unlock Atlantis.Discovered a Rainbow (natural phenomenon) in Baltic Sea S-W Landing area while doing a quest there.
Every day I try to review my goal and then work backwards to figure out what I need to do to get to the goal without having to backtrack because I am missing something. On OGP, I learned this lesson after getting stuck so many times because I did not have a required language or some other item needed to complete a simple quest. With this in mind, I am thinking why do I want to go to Atlantis? It has recently opened up with lots of excitment, but from what I hear/remember, the prize for reaching Atlantis is nothing to write home about. In my opinion, the only real reason to go is to get some crystal blessings (has different effects) and/or run the Atlantis dungeon and possibly make the weapon Terra Amina. (100a 25-35d with great success, normally 80att, 20d +2 Guard+2 Sword Mastery) club/staff. It is the only 100att club/staff I know of in the game, most others are attack 20 or less. If I do go, I will prep everything that is required to make several of them. Over the next 2 days or so you will see a lot of actions/activity done in preparation to make this weapon, specifically to make lots of pure iron sheets, a component of the weapon that either takes lots of patience to make, or high level alchemy.Luckily I think I think I can make them with a bit of effort and planning.
--------------
Step 1(making Pure Iron sheets), I picked up the Master Alchemist Job. With my R8 Alchemy +1 Academic tam +1 Emerald Tablet +1 Job, I now have the R11 Alchemy required to make pure iron sheets.
A day for collecting trade goods of all sorts. There are many components and sub components and other goods that I will collect. Top of the list are Rare books, Gold and Glassware. The sub components are Paper, Hemp, Copper, Sulfur, Crystal, White ore.
When I make/collect these goods, I will have an excess of diamonds, so I will also collect lumber and gold/lumber and the diamonds to make Fine Tribute for large ships.
-----------
Step 2, (making pure iron sheets) I collected and processed approximately 3000 rare books, 2000 sulfur, 4000 copper, 3000 gold, 1200 salt,100 PO 2's, to make 85 coloured potions.
----------
I used up a lot of PO 2's getting all of those goods set up in my bazaars. I decide to go to Bordeaux dungeons and run the top floor to 1) re-stock PO 2's, 2)to get more gold, white ore, crystal and 3) to see if I can get the Sword 3 Power tech "Unterhau" from the Rapscallion L47. During my 30 or so runs, I kill the Rapscallion within 5 seconds of him using the tech but I do NOT pick up the tech. I check the guides I have, the Japanese guide says you need Sword 5, Application Sword 5 and Power 9. It is a really poor translation and I thought I had the requirements. The HeroForEver tech guide says you need R19 Power. and R7 sword mastery which i do NOT have. I will put a skill in my skill bookshelf and get sword mastery.
step 3 (of making pure iron sheets), make and install a alchemy test kiln in my quarters, requires alchemy R10. It is sad that I have a +3 consumable furniture in my quarters, but I have to replace it with a +1 consumable test kiln. I need the kiln to get the recipes to make pure iron sheets in my quarters.
-----------
Finally the French are back to "normal" status with me.The last 3 countries should be normal within a day or two. After Atlantis, I will spend a day in the Red Sea doing quests and checking my investment status. It is nice not having to wear any disguise equipment, but that will change shortly.
------------
I have 4 ornaments in my R5 quarters, but I am pretty sure that they have no effect yet. I need to learn how make an ornament display room and activate them.
After collecting 1600 white ore, I sailed to Seville and Istanbul to put it up in my quarters storage. While in Europe, I picked up the Archeologist job.I also just read up that to use ornaments I must purchase a display room from the bank in my capital city (currently Istanbul.)
I made several display ornaments from my discovery cards. I have placed 8 display items in my display room. I am still not exactly sure how to activate them.
----------
Passed 1120 discoveries. Opened 2/3 of the solar barge. I will make the last part tomorrow after Atlantis moves to a new location at 10am tomorrow.I finished collecting about 4500 white ore and have made 450? Pure Iron sheets. I will make some boots and pick up a helmet, I will be ready for Atlantis tomorrow, and ready to run the endless dungeon.
---------
The two important things I learned today.
1) is that the Exploration ship refit gives +10% xp for sea adventure. I am glad I picked that instead of the ship speed up #2, I just didn't know why until now! That is why I wait until I am sailing before I report my land charting. It is worth an extra 10% xp or about and extra 350xp on land chart #120.
2) I finally understand Ornament display effects, and how to activate them.Once you have a R5 Quarters, you can buy an Ornament Display room at the bank for 10M. The 5 ornaments on display in your quarters have zero effect. Only the ones placed in the 10 slots in the display room have the potential to do something. Each item that you place in one of the 10 display slots has either 1,2 or sometimes 3 effects. Each of the effects of the items on display is added up and IF the Sum of the effects for each ornament is +10 (such as cultural contribution increase), then that effect has the potential to be activated, much like a college skill can be activated. As an example, I have "Ivory Statue of goddess" and "Incense Burner" each has a +5 to land speed. The effect of having both of those on display in my ornament room is +10, so I activated my Journal/Ornament display effects/Set Effects and made it one of the 5 skills active.Another neat thing I learned while sailing around making ornaments is that you can make more interesting ornaments if you have multiple discovery cards that can combine. The one example that I saw was tulips in a white vase on a table, which used a flower discovery, vase discovery and a table discovery. Neat! My 10 ornaments give me enough points to activate 1) Increased land speed, 2) Increased Cultural contribution, 3) Increased skill effect duration, 4) Reduced vigor consumption
There is Wuxu Porcelain available in San Francisco today. Lots of players doing the SF/Boston/Europe shuffle. Pirates are hanging outside of Boston as well.
----------
I am collecting ore and lumber in NA. This is the last day for White ore. I will be over 5k white ore, and will buy a bit more from the Seville shops if I need it. The recipe for pure iron sheets is 30 white ore, +1 experiment pot (= 2 iron) +1 Ignis solution = 2 pure iron sheet.I have 180 solutions so that works out to 5400 white ore needed.
----------
Well things did not turn out as I expected. (Alchemist noob talking..) There are FIVE different possible outcomes to this experiment...not 1 outcome of 3 pure iron sheets as expected. It must be done at your quarters with a kiln or lab bench.
1) Great Failure: yourfurniture is damaged due to a poorly thought out experiment
2) Normal Failure: nothing changed (goods used up, produced nothing)
3)Success, 3 sheets of pure iron are produced
4)Success, 2 suspicious lumps (that can be opened) are produced
5)Great Success: 3 sheets of pure steel are produced.
----------
Out of 180 solutions, i got roughly 20% great Fails, 30% fails, 50% split between success and great success. The total goods count is. 75 pure iron sheets, 48 Pure Steel sheets, 90 suspicious lumps.
---------
When I went back to Istanbul, I swapped in a better ornament and activated headache reduction as my 5th skill.I have not seen the difference in effect yet, but the increased land speed is definitely visible as you are blurred when running on land and look like the six million dollar man/roadrunner (if you are old enough to know who they were.)
------------
End of day. Completed the solar barge for Atlantis and passed 1130 discoveries.
I managed to scrounge up another 15 pure iron sheets so I will have 90 to make 3 terra Amina when I go to Atlantis.
--------
I did see what I wanted to know about reduced headaches.I have not done any statistics on the effects, but I did see one event during browsing a scholar's books.
Due to the Ornament display Effect, you were able to prevent straining your head while browsing books. I believe this gives the toon ONE extra browse. This is out of 33-38 browsing events, so the effect is something like 3% better.
-------------
Step 4) of getting to make a Terra Amina: Equip up.
While running Bordeaux to get silver for the run to Atlantis, I passed 300 Ruin Exploration Rate.I made a pair of boots and bought some cheap iron gloves def12 and a Tong Tian Guan (hat) att12, def 17. With 73d boots and King Richard's armor 70d, my overall raw stats are 92a, 199d.I got all the gear I need and so I took the solar barge to Atlantis.Atlantis is currently just S of the Falkland Islands.
Step 5) Do dungeon runs until the secret passage takes you to the recipe room.
First run in the dungeon I did 18 levels solo before I ran out of Stamina. Then I ran it and did 12, 12,12more levels. Of the 4 times I did a level 10, only once did I get the two boss statues, one with 3000 health and the other with 6000. They did not hit hard so It just took time to wear them down with poison and fire. I was rewarded with 1 bar of Orichalcum, an highly sought after alchemy component. Of the 52 levels, I did about 14 secret passages(lost count). approx10 Treasure rooms, 3Death (10NPC) rooms and 1 puzzle room. No town man recipe. Sigh
Comments
April 1st, Day 166. April Fools and
Happy Easter.
2.7M to remove 1200raisins from product
storage in Sakai which is in boom. I used a NPC and traded 1800 wine for 1800
Saori. Nice!
----------
I completed enough EA discoveries/quests
to complete the thesis "hide discovered quests" This is a critical long term adventure
(college) skill needed to be active to pull many of the higher level quests.
Discovered Thick Fog (Natural Phenomenon) on Japan SE coast. I also completed the two Taiwan memorial
albums. The reward for one of them is a +2 sundries trade outfit, which will
come in handing for my alt who has to grind it for one of the +3 furnitures. I
also planned ahead and picked up some of the trade goods needed to complete the
Japanese dish memorial album. The reward
for that is a +1 firearms trade outfit, which I also need for my grind to make
another of the +3 furnitures.
---------
End of day passed 950 discoveries. Art
R9.
April 2nd. Day 167
I looked into which version of the +3
document storage is easier to make and skill more useful to get. I need either
R8 Sundries or R10 Perfume. There are
about 30 different perfumes in the game, 20 which are purchasable and only ONE
sundry that you can buy (Western books). Yet the western books and sundries
trade is more useful to me because I can use it to purchase western books for
grinding Alchemy. Anyhow, I used up all
of my PO 1's on my alt and got his Sundries trading up to R6+2 so I can make
those +3 document bookshelves now. I spent the day collecting saws and
materials to make them. I found afterwards there is a new +2 sundries trading
item called Traveler's comb which you can make in NA during the Thanksgiving
Festival. It requires gold thread and Japanese Laquer, but that is not an issue
for me.
----------------
I discovered a Sand Tornado (natural
phenomenon) while doing a quest in the land area Sahara.
----------
End of day passed 960 discoveries.
April 3rd, Day 168
Picked up quests going from Europe to
the Caribbean, then took a rail from Boston to San Fran and did more quests
going to Hawaii. Sailed on to EA, picked up my +1 Firearms trade reward for completing
the Japanese foods memorial album. I
did quests and discoveries until one of
the Japanese cities went into special status for alcohol trade. Edo went into
festival status and so I pulled 1050 raisins from my product storage and made
wine. With a NPC, I traded 1800 wine for 1800 paper lanterns.
------------
Sailed back to San Francisco, railed to
Boston then sailed north to set up to collect berries and yellow ore.
---------
In the evening I did some 20 runs in
Bordeaux to get some PO 3's to use to buy Firearms. I made R6 Firearms trade, +4
with my Montsuki outfit, golden sceptre and turquoise earrings, then sailed to
Bremen to meet my alt with lumber and yellow ore to make zink and Brass for +3
Trade Goods furniture.
---------
At the end of the day I passed 970
discoveries and made level 80 Trade.
72/80/69
April 4th, Day 169
A day for collecting. I have to do lots
of work irl, so I will set up to do collecting white ore/berries and logs
(diamonds and lumber for my company storage) and berries for my quarters
storage aide to turn into more raisins for EA trade. Then later I will set up
for searching saws and hammers in Europe for more furniture.
April 5th, Day 170
I encountered a strange situation while
leading an adventure quest. I had 4 out of 5 fleet members with me when I
completed the quest. The other fleet members did not have all of the skills
needed and at least one had no skills in the fields needed, but completed the
quest when I did the search. The last
fleet member had R3 search and 0 appraisal. The quest needed R7 Search and R9
appraisal. Even though I was standing right there, when he tried to search, he
could not make the discovery. We gave him some +search and got him to R6 search
and he made the discovery even with R0 appraisal! I do not know what the exact
restrictions are, but I don't come across it too often as my alt's skill are
not too bad.
--------------
The quest was the first part to open
Azuchi Castle. We completed the first
two quests and we discovered the
tortoiseshell comb needed to unlock the quest for Azuchi mid on our first run
of that dungeon.
-----------
End of day I made Adventure level 73!
and 980 discoveries.

April 6, Day 171
I am in Europe helping a company mate
make cannons and work casting skills. My mineral trade is R13+6 and wares trade
is R11+2. With 11 PO 2's I can fill a bazaar with 2000 iron ore, copper ore,
lead ore, tin ore and coal.
-----------
The rest of the day was spent doing EA
discoveries and a bit of trade in Korea.
I unlocked Fort San Domingo mid levels
and I finished all 8 of the memorial albums in EA. I received a Qiongyugao. An memorial album
item "a gift from influential
figures" for doing trade in EA.
At the end of the day I made my 1000th discovery.
April 7th, Day 172
More adventure quests, then I came back
to Europe. I help a couple company mates, prepare for the NA Thanksgiving
festival. I made sure they have the fisher job, fishing skill, collection
skill, storage skill, unlocked Caribbean (fame) port permit, and field studies
college skill. Since they have low level
cooking (R1), I will bring a few chickens and get them to endlessly process
chickens and eggs. Not too much to report.
-----------
End of day 1010 discoveries, 225/289
areas Charted.
April 8th, Day 173
The NA Thanksgiving festival is not
on. The site I checked used to say April
7th 20 O'clock start, now it says delayed until after ESF??? I do not think
there is an ESF on.
http://unchartedwaters.wikia.com/wiki/Railway_Events
I will collect berries anyhow in NA, and
fill my quarters in Istanbul so my aide can make more raisins for EA. After
that I will be searching for saws in Beruit outskirts to make +3 ship parts
furniture for my company.
April 9th, Day 174
I am pretty busy in real life for the
next few days, so I will not be doing too much. Mostly collecting/making
furniture and selling stuff at bazaars. Today I made +5 Skill bookshelves. While I was in NA collecting, I went to Boston
College and changed to a priest and took the college thesis for that job.
April 10th, Day 175
I took the Suez canal and a quest to
India. I will work adventure quests from India/Jakarta/Hangzhou on my RL
breaks. At the end of the day I completed 10 theology quests and the Boston
College thesis. The Boston College skill that I can get/use from that is to up
my Maximum Rank for Theology to R17. That is kind of a useless skill. Why not
just use a R15 as a priest and hold/wear +2, or +2 regular college skill? Maybe
there is something I am missing. This skill would be much better if it gave you
a +10% xp/skill or something for doing Theology quests.
--------------------
Also my 30 day +30% xp and fame have ended so
I will not be pushing the adventure charting. If I do want to chart an area, I
may have to do 2 at a time. (Chart an area, pop a +50% xp for 1h, report the
area, then chart another area and report it before the bonus runs out) The last
land area that I charted was worth over 4700 xp and the last sea zone I charted
was worth over 7,000xp.
End of day, passed 1020 discoveries.
April 11th, Day 176
I changed to Cartographer job and took
the Boston College thesis for it. It
will be 10 geography maps to finish this one. I will do a world tour again but
this time going around Africa as I have some maps around South America and
South Africa. While leaving Boston, there were 2 solo pirates sitting at the
docks. There was also a bounty hunter sitting just a little off the port and
when I left, they pirates started to
follow. The BH said "pass safely my
friend." and sailed between the pirates and me.. the pirates turned around
and went back to port... Nice! I wish I remembered the BH's name.
-----------
Note on pirates. Since I have made
tribute for pirates (large) a while ago, I have used 4 tributes so far. I estimate that I get attacked once every 10
days or so. I am sure it could be less if I tried to avoid them, but I don't
wait at port if they are camped out. I just sail and let them hit me for half
my cash on hand and one tribute. There are a pile of them sitting outside of
Boston right now and since part of Caribbean and North America West coast is
lawless waters, you cannot use tribute with them. Doesn't stop me. I put my excess money and
goods in the bank. I sail right out of Boston because I don't want to waste
time. I get hit by a pirate who steals 1M and a self made weapon from me.
Nothing I have is worth stealing. I don't talk to the pirate, I just use a life
saver and sail on. The real asset, and most valuable thing in this game is TIME, not money
or items. If you are worried, put your good stuff in the bank, but NEVER
let pirates steal your time. (make you wait at port) Passed 1030 discoveries.
April 12, Day 177
Quiet day as I was out of the house for
most of it. Did some quests between San
Francisco and EA. Passed 1040 discoveries.
===========
Friday April 13, Day 178
Back to EA for more quests. I will bring
a load of goods thru North America when I go back, unless someone needs help in
India or the Middle east.
---------
This weekend there is a ESF going on in
Ancona. French/Dutch/Ottoman vs Venice/English. I will try to be on for
Saturday's event. I have not studied the
event very well and do not know about how to help support a defender by
bringing supplies and fortifying the defending city. All I do know is that it is a fairly easy way
to get a few court ranks. I do have my small battle boat ready for the
event. I will just have to make or buy a few cannons or carronades. I might make some Garuda (figureheads) for
sale in my aide bazaar as well. I should
be able to defect soon, as my status with the Turks is at Amity and the 4
nations Spain/Venice/English/French have been at distrust for a while now.
-----------
End of day, passed 1060 discoveries.
April 14th, Day 179
ESF day. I woke up late, and went to
Seville to get some guns, None! I sailed to London, prepared to make some Rapid
18's, but settled on some 16's for sale because I was short on time. The battle
is at Ancona, near Venice. Sad thing is I did not have enough time to show up
before the event and fleet so I was stuck alone and had a hard time trying to
get a fleet, while everyone was sailing around.
... and as I learned, you cannot
participate if you are solo. You MUST be in a fleet.
so much for today's esf. Next time, I
will take the quest with my alt and fleet with him!.
I might also suggest that the ESF info
show a meeting city for the attackers or defenders, where new players or solo
players can meet up and join a fleet. The ESF info lists Syracuse, Naples or
Bengazi as allied cities, but that does not help much for solo players.
----------
End of day, passed 1080 discoveries.
230/289 areas charted.
April 15th, Day 180
Contribution day. One company has Poupelin trees, the other
grilled salted Pirarucu.
I came back to the Med to help a company
mate do the Legend of the Labarynthos quest.
Before I redid the quest I had the craftsman turn my original discovery
card into the Knossos palace display item.
It has +5 effect duration. My
quarters are 60% completed to being R5 quarters. I will see how these display
items affect me when it is done. After
the quest, I set up for collecting beehives and vegetable oil in Salonika. I stocked the company shared storage, then
make a second trip to collect berries and make jam. I also continue to fill up my quarters with
berries for my aide to turn into raisins.
-------------
I help out another company mate with
cooking grinding. I get some mysterious spices and have him make all of the
poupelin. Starting from R8+5 (with mysterious spices) he made R10 cooking. He
got the cook job so we could get him to make the Poupelin Trees as well. R10+1+5
for the R16 cooking recipe. We filled the company storage with 999 poupelin
Trees.
April 16th, Day 181.
Back to adventure quests. I did a long
tour of the world in the Naturalist job and picked up quests from Seville going
to St.George, St. George going to Cape. Cape going to the Middle East etc.
Nothing too exciting.
End of day passed 1090 discoveries.
April 17th, Day 182
Thanksgiving Festival is on in NA. I
will do my normal collections and then fix my gear up to do land battles for
the next three days. All of my weapons are in poor shape. Even though I have not
been using them, they take damage while sailing when the ship is in
"unusual status, ie. poor sanitation, rats, fire, etc."
----------
I have 2 spears, 2 flamberge and 2
yatangans to switch thru during fighting, but only focus on my flamberge as
they are not 900+ forte. I turn on a 7 day Tech acquisition booster. If
I am in a fleet helping company mates I focus on traps and completing each
fight in around 20-25 seconds. If I am by myself, I focus on gaining
Quick/Feint/Power points and levels. I
need to raise these levels to get the higher weapon techs.
At the end of the day I have done 300+
land fights and gained one new level 2 sword tech, Strong Slash. (requires
Power R6)
April 18th, Day 183
More land battles. Another 300 land
battles and another new tech Trick Sword, (Requires Feint R6)
============
April 19th, Day 184
More land battles. Another 300 land
battles. I made a quick trip back to Europe to fix my sword and halberd.
Dropped off another load of berries to my quarters for the aide production and
made 4 Shipwrights quarters for a company mate in Istanbul at the dock master.
From what I hear, there are no dock masters in the Caribbean yet.
I helped a lot of newer players get
their maritime and adventures levels up by fleeting while doing lots of land
battles.
-----------
I will continue with the land battles
but picked up snipe skill and a bow and club while I was in Europe. Both of
these weapon categories have low feint requirements to get extra weapon techs,
so after the festival ends, I will be working Power./Quick/Feint with my club
and bows. I will keep working these while my 7 day Tech Acquisition increase
booster is still on.
--------
I make level 70 Maritime and find that I
am capped and have to do the unlock quest. It
takes me 9 tries to solo a Wallenstein mission, and unlock Maritime 70. A
tip in the Colosseum is that the NPC's never use traps/items that need an
antidote, so I could have replaced it with a 3rd cure.
My method of success involved a lot of
burn traps, running around and curing myself.
---------
At the end of the day I leveled in Both Adventure and
Maritime.
75/80/70
April 20, Day185
Sailed to Hamburg and went to Frankfurt,
met Alias and unlocked Maritime 76-80.
I am set for a while, so I plan to do
land battles for Power/Quick/Feint for 3 days, then switch to Maritime. Today my goal is to get to Feint R2 for bows
and learn the two new bow techs that need Snipe R4 and Feint R3. If I get my
Snipe to R4, I will buy some equipment and try to get the Musketeer job.
-----------
I reviewed my long term goals and this
is what I came up with. (in no particular order)
-----------------
Short Term
-acquire 2 bow, 2 staff,
1,throw,1sword,1 spear (all level 2 weapon techs)
-Finish Investing 1B in the first
Railway, for NA effects.
-----------------
Medium Term
-Get my alt to Trade level 75 so he can
sail the Windjammer.
-Build a Cruise High Clipper with Haul
assist., for future use as to raise wrecks (requires level 75 adventure to sail
which I just made)
-Build a cheap First Class Viasseau and
level maritime to level 79
-Build my endgame Victory (requires
level 79 Maritime to sail)
-Get my alt to Seasoning Trade R7-8 or
so(To build furniture), Craft,Sundries,Luxury Trade R7-8 (For San Francisco EA
goods events)
-Build +3 Trade goods Furniture
(Requires Seasoning Trade R10)
Complete my R5 Quarters and install the
maximum number of display ornaments allowable (ie. figure out how the ornament
bonuses work)
-------------
Long Term
-get ALL jobs, including Grand Admiral,
Fillibuster Assault R14, Plunder R12(Maritime) Great Adventurer, Ranger(BioR15),
(Adventure) ;Master Alchemist and Millionaire (Trade)
-Invest at least 1B in EACH of the
different railways to get most of the special effect bonuses in NA. Each will
require 50 days x 20M investment for each railway, not including event days
when you cannot invest.
-learn and participate in an academy
debate.
-open all and solo all dungeons
-learn and explore the two endless
dungeons at least to level 20 or so.
-achieve the deepseeker/ruin explorer
titles.
-assemble clues and complete ALL of the
treasure hunt quests at least once.
-learn the new pet system and get a pet!
-unlock and complete charting ALL land
zones.
---------
Very long term
Make (close to) every discovery. We must
be around 3000 now.
aaaahhh.. so many things to work on.
April 21, Day 186
I was doing land battle in the
Caribbean, but we had a new company member join, so I sailed back to Europe to
help get him set up. I suggested he
finish all his schools, but he wanted to work on cooking so I set up a bazaar
for him to cook from. He only got to cooking r8 as I had to go out.
------------
Ended up not doing many land dungeon
runs as I was helping others to start the Atlantis quest. My Sword Tech
(Yellow) ended up at Feint10 and I picked up New Lifting slash.
April 22, Day 187
Back to dungeon runs. Today I am working
sword (Blue/Quick.) I saw one of the
NPC's use the tech "New Sure Arrow" but 1) I was using a sword at the
time and 2) I could not kill the NPC quickly enough. I have to be quicker and swap weapons next
time. After that I swapped to using the
bow first I got my Snipe up to R4+4. I decided to sail to Marseilles and I
picked up the Musketeer job for both myself and my alt. It took a lot of
time running around using burn traps to wear them down. It was very similar to
the unlock Maritime 70+ quest.
--------
While grinding weapon finesse ranks, in
the Bordeaux dungeon, I came up with a method not described anywhere. I am kind
of proud of myself for coming up with it.
It is for those who really want to grind finesse ranks. The method described in all of the guides
recommend partnering and working one colour when working finesse. The method described does not help much if
you are solo and use a finesse booster. The finesse gain for a 5 chain solo is
85 points. In Bordeaux, there are two NPC on each of the first two floors.
Neither hit too hard so it is easy to run around and wait until you get 3 slots
filled with the tech colour you are working on. Wait another 15-20 seconds and
you can unleash a 5 tech combo. Once the first npc is dead, switch weapons and
stack 3 more of the other weapon/finesse and after anohter 15-20 seconds,
unload another 5 chain combo on the second NPC with a different weapon. This way, when I was lucky I was able to gain
85 points in Sword/Feint and 85 points in Bow/Power in a single battle.
--------
Post edit.. I don't do this anymore,
because I am way too lazy. I just stay
on one colour and try to get chains 7-11 depending on if the NPC heals itself
or not.
-----
I find grinding weapon finesse extra
boring. It is the same 2 NPC's on the
first level and the same 2 NPCs on the second level of Bordeaux. It is a bonus
to get some PO2's and PO3's. At the end
of the day my Ruin exploration rate is 273.
April 23, Day 188
Completed my first train investment.
Did my first 6 and 7 chain of techs with
my alt today on NA east cost. Soloing I
can chain 5 techs and get up to 85 finesse points with my +150% finesse booster.
With a
2alt-5main combo I have gotten 117 finesse points! The way described in
the guides is much better for the sole reason that you don't have to wait the
full time to get 4+ techs loaded in your queue before you start the combo. While soling I have to wait for about 70
seconds .. while fleeted, I can start after 30 seconds or so.
---------
At the end of the day I got my spear
Power finesse up to R8.
April 24th, Day 189
Holy cow. I got my first 9 chain! and 185 Power Finesse points from One
Fight! Nice! There is a bit of luck involved in getting a 9 chain off. The NPCs
that I am fighting have only 430 health, and usually die after a 6 chain. For a
9 chain to work, the NPC has to use an elixir/assorted of health/medication,
just before he is about to die, giving him enough health to take another 3
techs. Picked up triple slash (Tech
#64), New Fierce Strike(#65), New Sure Strike (#66), New Spear Throw (#67) and Trick
Axe (#68) Now not to sound crazy. After I got my Sword Power finesse to R9, I
switched to club/staff.. My flamberge is attack 39. My "staff of the dead"
is only attack 16 and so the tech combos from the staff don't do as much
damage. With some luck and timing I was
able to get an 11 chain, and 265
finesse points from one battle!!! hochee mama. Tech battles are not
so boring anymore. There is too much
info here, so I will just give my highest Finesse Ranks at the end (Sword) Power
9; Quick 20, Feint 22. I will have to
search out the specific NPC with the Rank 3 sword techs in the future.
--------------
At the end of the day, my tech
acquisition booster ran out, so I made my way to London to do some quests,
leading to the unlocking of Atlantis.
Discovered a waterspout (natural phenomenon near Las Palmas 15370:3674
April 25th, Day 190
Out most of the day again. Not much done
except a few Adventure quests from London and the three needed to unlock
Atlantis. Discovered a Rainbow (natural
phenomenon) in Baltic Sea S-W Landing area while doing a quest there.
End of day 1110 discoveries.
April 26th, Day 191
Every day I try to review my goal and
then work backwards to figure out what I need to do to get to the goal without
having to backtrack because I am missing something. On OGP, I learned this lesson after getting
stuck so many times because I did not have a required language or some other
item needed to complete a simple quest. With this in mind, I am thinking why do
I want to go to Atlantis? It has recently opened up with lots of excitment, but
from what I hear/remember, the prize for reaching Atlantis is nothing to write
home about. In my opinion, the only real
reason to go is to get some crystal blessings (has different effects) and/or run
the Atlantis dungeon and possibly make the weapon Terra Amina. (100a 25-35d with
great success, normally 80att, 20d +2 Guard+2 Sword Mastery) club/staff. It is
the only 100att club/staff I know of in the game, most others are attack 20 or
less. If I do go, I will prep everything that is required to make several of
them. Over the next 2 days or so you will see a lot of actions/activity done in
preparation to make this weapon, specifically to make lots of pure iron sheets,
a component of the weapon that either takes lots of patience to make, or high
level alchemy. Luckily I think I think I
can make them with a bit of effort and planning.
--------------
Step 1(making Pure Iron sheets), I picked up the Master Alchemist Job.
With my R8 Alchemy +1 Academic tam +1 Emerald Tablet +1 Job, I now have the R11
Alchemy required to make pure iron sheets.
April 27, Day 192.
A day for collecting trade goods of all
sorts. There are many components and sub components and other goods that I will
collect. Top of the list are Rare books, Gold and Glassware. The sub components are Paper, Hemp, Copper, Sulfur,
Crystal, White ore.
When I make/collect these goods, I will
have an excess of diamonds, so I will also collect lumber and gold/lumber and
the diamonds to make Fine Tribute for large ships.
-----------
Step 2, (making pure iron sheets) I
collected and processed approximately 3000 rare books, 2000 sulfur, 4000
copper, 3000 gold, 1200 salt, 100 PO
2's, to make 85 coloured potions.
----------
I used up a lot of PO 2's getting all of
those goods set up in my bazaars. I decide to go to Bordeaux dungeons and run
the top floor to 1) re-stock PO 2's, 2)to get more gold, white ore, crystal and
3) to see if I can get the Sword 3 Power tech "Unterhau" from the
Rapscallion L47. During my 30 or so runs, I kill the Rapscallion within 5
seconds of him using the tech but I do NOT pick up the tech. I check the guides
I have, the Japanese guide says you need Sword 5, Application Sword 5 and Power
9. It is a really poor translation and I thought I had the requirements. The
HeroForEver tech guide says you need R19 Power. and R7 sword mastery which i do
NOT have. I will put a skill in my skill bookshelf and get sword mastery.
April 28th, Day 193
step 3 (of making pure iron sheets),
make and install a alchemy test kiln in my quarters, requires alchemy R10. It
is sad that I have a +3 consumable furniture in my quarters, but I have to
replace it with a +1 consumable test kiln. I need the kiln to get the recipes
to make pure iron sheets in my quarters.
-----------
Finally the French are back to
"normal" status with me. The
last 3 countries should be normal within a day or two. After Atlantis, I will
spend a day in the Red Sea doing quests and checking my investment status. It
is nice not having to wear any disguise equipment, but that will change
shortly.
------------
I have 4 ornaments in my R5 quarters,
but I am pretty sure that they have no effect yet. I need to learn how make an
ornament display room and activate them.
After collecting 1600 white ore, I
sailed to Seville and Istanbul to put it up in my quarters storage. While in
Europe, I picked up the Archeologist
job. I also just read up that to use
ornaments I must purchase a display room from the bank in my capital city
(currently Istanbul.)
April 29th, Day 194
I made several display ornaments from my
discovery cards. I have placed 8 display items in my display room. I am still
not exactly sure how to activate them.
----------
Passed 1120 discoveries. Opened 2/3 of the
solar barge. I will make the last part tomorrow after Atlantis moves to a new
location at 10am tomorrow. I finished
collecting about 4500 white ore and have made 450? Pure Iron sheets. I will
make some boots and pick up a helmet, I will be ready for Atlantis tomorrow,
and ready to run the endless dungeon.
---------
The two important things I learned
today.
1) is that the Exploration ship refit
gives +10% xp for sea adventure. I am glad I picked that instead of the ship
speed up #2, I just didn't know why until now! That is why I wait until I am sailing
before I report my land charting. It is worth an extra 10% xp or about and
extra 350xp on land chart #120.
2) I finally understand Ornament display effects, and how to
activate them. Once you have a R5
Quarters, you can buy an Ornament Display room at the bank for 10M. The 5
ornaments on display in your quarters have zero effect. Only the ones placed in the 10 slots in the display room have the
potential to do something. Each item that you place in one of the 10
display slots has either 1,2 or sometimes 3 effects. Each of the effects of the
items on display is added up and IF
the Sum of the effects for each ornament is +10 (such as cultural contribution
increase), then that effect has the potential to be activated, much like a
college skill can be activated. As
an example, I have "Ivory Statue of goddess" and "Incense
Burner" each has a +5 to land speed. The effect of having both of those on
display in my ornament room is +10, so I activated my Journal/Ornament display
effects/Set Effects and made it one of the 5 skills active. Another neat thing I learned while sailing
around making ornaments is that you can make more interesting ornaments if you
have multiple discovery cards that can combine. The one example that I saw was
tulips in a white vase on a table, which used a flower discovery, vase
discovery and a table discovery. Neat! My 10 ornaments give me enough points to
activate 1) Increased land speed, 2) Increased Cultural contribution, 3)
Increased skill effect duration, 4) Reduced vigor consumption
April 30th, Day 195
There is Wuxu Porcelain available in San
Francisco today. Lots of players doing the SF/Boston/Europe shuffle. Pirates
are hanging outside of Boston as well.
----------
I am collecting ore and lumber in NA.
This is the last day for White ore. I will be over 5k white ore, and will buy a
bit more from the Seville shops if I need it.
The recipe for pure iron sheets is 30 white ore, + 1 experiment pot (= 2 iron) +1 Ignis solution
= 2 pure iron sheet. I have 180
solutions so that works out to 5400 white ore needed.
----------
Well things did not turn out as I
expected. (Alchemist noob talking..) There are FIVE different possible outcomes
to this experiment...not 1 outcome of 3 pure iron sheets as expected. It must be done at your quarters with a kiln
or lab bench.
1) Great Failure: your furniture is damaged due to a poorly thought
out experiment
2) Normal Failure: nothing changed
(goods used up, produced nothing)
3)Success, 3 sheets of pure iron are
produced
4)Success, 2 suspicious lumps (that can
be opened) are produced
5)Great Success: 3 sheets of pure steel
are produced.
----------
Out of 180 solutions, i got roughly 20%
great Fails, 30% fails, 50% split between success and great success. The total
goods count is. 75 pure iron sheets, 48 Pure Steel sheets, 90 suspicious lumps.
---------
When I went back to Istanbul, I swapped
in a better ornament and activated headache reduction as my 5th skill. I have not seen the difference in effect yet,
but the increased land speed is definitely visible as you are blurred when
running on land and look like the six million dollar man/roadrunner (if you are
old enough to know who they were.)
------------
End of day. Completed the solar barge
for Atlantis and passed 1130 discoveries.
May 1st, Day 196
I managed to scrounge up another 15 pure
iron sheets so I will have 90 to make 3 terra Amina when I go to Atlantis.
--------
I did see what I wanted to know about
reduced headaches. I have not done any
statistics on the effects, but I did see one event during browsing a scholar's
books.
Due to the Ornament display Effect, you
were able to prevent straining your head while browsing books. I believe this
gives the toon ONE extra browse. This is
out of 33-38 browsing events, so the effect is something like 3% better.
-------------
Step 4) of getting to make a Terra
Amina: Equip up.
While running Bordeaux to get silver for
the run to Atlantis, I passed 300 Ruin Exploration Rate. I made a pair of boots and bought some cheap iron
gloves def12 and a Tong Tian Guan (hat) att12, def 17. With 73d boots and King
Richard's armor 70d, my overall raw stats are 92a, 199d. I got all the gear I need and so I took the
solar barge to Atlantis. Atlantis is
currently just S of the Falkland Islands.
Step 5) Do dungeon runs until the secret
passage takes you to the recipe room.
First run in the dungeon I did 18 levels
solo before I ran out of Stamina. Then I ran it and did 12, 12,12 more levels. Of the 4 times I did a level 10,
only once did I get the two boss statues, one with 3000 health and the other
with 6000. They did not hit hard so It just took time to wear them down with
poison and fire. I was rewarded with 1 bar of Orichalcum, an highly sought
after alchemy component. Of the 52
levels, I did about 14 secret passages(lost count). approx10 Treasure rooms,
3Death (10NPC) rooms and 1 puzzle room. No town man recipe. Sigh
